teen_fixie the media project that i am doing is a magazine that talks about fixed gear and track bicycles. It will not be published, cus im only 17
I'm curious (mainly cos this bit made me chuckle) ... do you consider your age to be a barrier or something? Plenty of people get stuff published when they're 17, people write for newspapers and magazines. Look at Peaches Geldof?!

hassanr pre 98 hardcore? combatwoundedveteran, reversal of man, joshua fit for battle? (why pre 98, loads of really good bands were still around in 99-2002).
Meh, I used to like stuff like that but I'm a bigger fan of proper oldschool youth crew stuff, Judge, Alone in a Crowd, Token Entry, Bold ... just got a bit sick of the noise that started happening around 1999. All depends on your definition of hardcore I guess?

dogsballs you linked to your flickr site, not an individual photo ending with .jpg . updates with the rims for new bike?!
Oh, ridiculous thing, I couldn't copy my image location for some reason, grr.
New rims are still in the box right now! I am working on the funds/masking/hubs aspect still. Mainly the funds though. They will be done by February! New risers too I hope...

I should have done this about 3 months ago since I'm on here all this forum most of my working day....
Hi, this is me (Vic - my username is profound, huh?), and my bike:
Don't know if the picture works.
I've lived in London for two years working for the government, I'm usually at polo when its not too cold and Trixie Chix nights when its not too much of a rush, I cannot skid, um I like dainty bikes, pre-1998 hardcore bands.... cha, well, a formal hello to all

matt (baddesigner) oh gosh. just spotted this on FGG.
is this a prime example of the trendy-ness getting out of hand? or is it just a fuck ugly bike?
what's with the seat post? and the forks? and ... and... bah.
If it wasn't for the seatpost and forks, I wouldn't mind owning that, is it really that fugly? What else is up with it?

Like how did you guys/girls find out about it?
Why are you interested in "fixie's"
What trips do you do?
Where do you travel?
Do you meet other "fixie" peeps
Have u injured yourself?
And any other exciting pieces of info you have?
Oh and pics if possible?Thanks
Lulu
Like how did you guys/girls find out about it? - My friend Carlos rides fixed, I blame it on him. And I porbably have a soft mind that's easy to mould, he'd say.
Why are you interested in "fixie's" - It's a different way of riding, a more connected ride and they're beautiful machines.
What trips do you do? - I commute from East London (Bethnal Green to be exact) to Westminster every day, go about 50 yards to polo on a Sunday and about 200 yards to Trixie Chix on a Tuesday. If I have to go anywhere at the weekend (shopping, museum, pub that's far away), I ride.
Where do you travel? - Er, dunno, with my bike? See above. Other places I travel are to my parents in NOrthamptonshire, but I get the train and I don't take my bike. I tend not to leave the east end for a night out.
Do you meet other "fixie" peeps - Yes, polo on Sundays, listening to the boys outgeek each other, Trixie Chix on Tuesdays to generally hang out with the ladies, get drunk and practice polo and tricks. It's nice being with other people that are largely of the same lifestyle - like to ride, [usually] conscientious, of a counterculture.
Have u injured yourself? - Someone ran over my foot, I have scars from my pedals, other than that my shoulder has never touched the ground whilst riding.
And any other exciting pieces of info you have? I have the smallest bike ever, er, there should be more girls involved.
Oh and pics if possible? - Click my user name.
Lulu I hope you get interested in fixed gear one day and haven't let these eejits put you off.

Very nice frame.
Armourtex in Hackney (mentioned on here with pretty positive reviews) use an RAL chart:

what is the inherent moral advantage of being on a bike? are you suggesting that morality contains universal truths?
No, just that cars are more likely to contain cunts.[/quote]
Again, cnuts and motorists are surely not mutually exclusive? I have no diea who Ryan is, not commenting on what he did, but generally on the forum people think that cyclists and cnuts are mutually exclusive. I've also met plenty of cyclists whilst riding (yes, and I have shouted at a lot of them too) that shouldn't be allowed on the road/to breed. Maybe an obvious point, but people shouldn't always side with/against someone based purely on their mode of transport, surely?

would be funny seeing a petite lady like yourself, shoving your petite bicycle thru her windscreen. :DYes and people are often surprised at the language of a petite lady riding a pastel bike too. Being a cyclist made my language so much more disgusting.
Gah, contempt of court... makes it pretty hard to judge whether to buy a t-shirt without knowing.

I'm just curious - as people keep saying they don't know the full story - what is the full story? I only found out in the last post that the driver bumped the cyclist's back wheel hard enough to bend it. I went to the House of Pistard site and neither was it clear from there precisely what happened. Does anybody know exactly?
For the record, some dozy bitch actually ran over my foot while I was to the side of her BUT in front, where she could very clearly see me. This was at a red light too, christ knows what she was doing. While I assured her of her stupidity and that 'sorry does not make it ok', she left with her car intact.

I saw/chatted to a dude on a grey and white condor this morning at the traffic lights onto Embankment from Blackfriars roundabout about government jobs.
Are there any other Whitehall mandarins lurking on here? I saw a matte black fixed/ss chained up oppposite the civil service club on great scotland yard (?) a fortnight ago... bike punks of the civil service unite!

Sano I think I saw BadDesigner and Vic, the other night outside Noodle King on Bethnal Green Road.
The girl said 'nice bike', which made me smile
What bike does Vic have? it's got 650c wheels or something similar - it's just that my friend, who's 4' 11" wants a bike and she's having a bugger of a job finding something small enough...
Indeed taht was us and I did say nice bike to you! Felt a bit of a prat afterwards though, ha, you looked slightly alarmed! ;D
Cha I have a tiny 46cm yellow bike with 24" wheels, kids Raleigh racer off ebay for £40. It's a little small for me - I have 650 Deep V's that i'll be building up in the new year which will raise me a few inches. If your friend wants a track frame, Harry Havnoonian at http://www.hhhracinggroup.com does a fantastic 650 pista.

She was the only young journalist to be published nationally pre-18 that I could think of off the top of my head. She's a hound!
But my point was that 'this won't be published because I'm 17' is a bit of a strange thing to say - you can start stuff like that any time you want if you apply yourself (as I wish I'd have done at that age instead of waiting til my mid twenties to get my name in print). I think if teen_fixie is really into his media then he shouldn't let his age become a barrier/excuse for not getting published (if indeed that is his ultimate goal).
