I use revo hub/light.
Then Sinewave revolution with a female connecter for the revo light cable soldered on (I have spares if people need, they are hard to find).I then charge a cache battery when the light isn't in use, and have an inline low capacity battery for the garmin that can take charge at the same time as charging the garmin. Batteries that allow this are also hard to find!
I spent a fortune on battery packs before I found ones that I'm happy with.

Can't be as bad as anyone wearing a fucking team sky jersey. I actively ignore them on the road now. #fuckmurdoch

Are you planning a taper or just going to carry on riding a bit and see how it goes?
I'm riding less, but still commuting (~60 miles per day, 3 days a week ish), I'll do a couple of 120+ mile shakedown rides too. Will go for some rides around Banff the couple of days before too probably, just to keep things moving.
Not sure tapering really applies to this. My race strategy follows Kent Peterson's "Start slow, and back off". It's all about knowing your limits, knowing when to shift muscle use if something starts hurting, and just riding for a long time each day. Eating a lot will also help!
Basically, fuck knows. We'll see in a few weeks!

Oh yes, I'm not expecting to sleep well the first few nights. Which is why I am not opting for the comfort of some lodge or YWCA in Banff, but camping with some friends just down the road towards Canmore at Lake Minnewanka (amazing name). At least that will help a little. Once I've been riding a couple of days, I fully expect to be able to sleep standing up.

How much water do you normally carry? Bottle under down tube + camelback? Or are you also storing water in the frame bag.
Depends where I am. Normally just a camelbak. For Tour Divide I'm taking a camelbak with 2L capacity, 1L bottle on downtube, and I'm taking 2 x 2L platypus bladders for extra capacity through The Great Basin, and the Gila Wilderness in New Mexico.

Hey Scott,
Thanks! Yeah, I hope you get to run the gauntlet on the English, what a beauty, shame for it not to be used for its intended purpose. It's tough preparing for the divide, so much training, so much money to spend on kit, flights, then all the food en route. It doesn't really seem real yet, I'm sure it will that first night under a tarp when I think every noise is a bear coming to eat me!
I'll post up the trackleaders link in the next week or so once Matt Lee has set it up and finalised the route (some big changes this year).

That looks mint, not that I would know what to do with it! Are you gonna be doing a thread/write up for your trip?
Yeah, there's a thread https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/255193/
I'll take loads of pics and slowly get stuff up on a blog at some point

Was kidding. Yeah, I'll probably ride it up anyway. Maybe in August/September... Will consult some beer drinking experts (@ ) as to where's best for a big piss up. Somewhere central-ish.

Out of interest, anyone on here on a Ketogenic diet, or ever tried it?
Several things have got my interest recently. A few talks I've watched online, and then today hearing Billy Rice is doing Tour Divide, twice, on a carb free diet (I'm assuming high fat, adequate protein) He's riding North Bound right now, on his own, then turning around on a tandem with his daughter and riding back south. That's 5400 miles and > 400,000 feet of climbing. He claimed in a call-in from New mexico today to have done 100 miles without extra food, and to be feeling great!
