which model are you getting, the A-line? think that only comes with mid bars - other models have more choice?

Anyway, depends what position you want on the bike - I'm 6'2" / pbh 92cm, I have a telescoping post & mid bars & flipped the pentaclip to give me a little more reach - my bars are roughly level with the seat & I find it comfy for what I use it for. If you want a more upright position (bars above the seat), maybe you want the high bars?

"chain tensioner or axle assembly" - in this context do they mean the rear wheel axle rather than the crank axle? the chain tensioner in the photo looks like it hooks onto the rear axle & doesn't have any kind of antirotation / non-turn washer that you probably need to safely use a hub gear?

Although this saddle bag rack does exactly what I want on a b17, it doesn't seem to sit right at all on the cambiums that I have on most of my bikes these days. Used once to test, put back in the box & then missed the returns deadline...

sorry to hear that, I think it would be a bit of a schlep on a brompton, but I think a multi-modal journey would be good - I always hate the dry stale hospital air & even a short blast on a bike does a lot to flush out the lungs & the mental health (for me). Something like getting the train the main section Orpington to Hither Green/St Johns & then brompton everything else is exactly the kind of thing bromptons excel at.
