To give it it's credit, the Core Rain Jacket is very light & packable. Aside from the PT Windjacket, it's the lightest in the jacket range (a medium is 30g lighter than the (old) single-ply Classic Windjacket) and I think you'd be pushed to find anything like it if you are looking at price.
If you want a stowable jacket for showers/warm changeable conditions, it's worth considering. If you want a jacket for riding longer in the rain, a more substantial shell like the Race Cape (with venting features like cuff zips and velcro front) would be a better option.
Hope this is of assistance.

sorry to be pedantic, but in terms of 'breathability', the eVent EPTFE (no 4 below) will be higher performing than the PU (no 4) of a Gabba-type fabric. These PU membrane fabrics are often married with regular knit non-laminate side/underarm panels to compensate for lower breathability performance. Advantages of PU laminates are high-stretch/recovery, great durability and (relatively) low price - and EPTFE are low/no stretch, need to be correctly cleaned/maintained, and will be in the upper price.

that 1)your being 2)conned by 3)super high prices with 4)super low paid 5)Chinese labour and 6)Quality?
1) you make this too easy.
2) implies a knowing deception, or misdirection by lying, which is clearly not the case - it's a Customer Service issue that's being dealt with directly.
3) 'super high price' within context of bib shorts, I think we can all agree, are Assos Campionissimo S7. On their site at £360, so over twice the cost. 'below median average price' would be more correct.
4) you've worked this one out for yourself, appreciated
5) again within the context of bib shorts, the Lightweights are made in Portugal.
6) it's not 100% clear, but as it follows on from 'super low paid Chinese labour' I deduce you are connecting China with low 'quality' production? First, the quality issue in the picture is the gripper elastane (out of Europe) not the make. Second, make out of anywhere can be fantastic or terrible; assuming that anything out of China has low quality is a bizarrely outdated view to hold in the 21st Century. Where did you get your keyboard from? Seems to be working ok. And your screen? And... oh dear....Considerations for production location often come down to where the fabric is sourced from (European fabrics are usually made up in Europe, and Far East in the Far East), coupled with the skill capabilities of the factory. Not always the case, but you'd be unhinged if you sent a technical Japanese 3-ply fabric around the world to a factory with limited capabilities to try to make seam-sealed outerwear.
Feel free to respond to any/all of these points, but I'm not going to go any further. Thanks for reading.

I assume this is still relevant?

Yes, absolutely (although Paolo has now left), but there are other countries of manufacture for contour legwear, including Portugal and China.
the pads are made in italy IIRC - should say on a label.
And correct too, all pads for bibs/tights are.

Yep, it's the same product, just the 'Training' name has been included with some products to allow other products into the range.
The fabric and features are all the same, but there was a slight adjustment to the sizing after the very first generation (it was on the tighter side, and following feedback was made more generous but this was years back) and a different country of origin.

Ahem. The majority of stain removers will contain a bleach, sometimes a bio enzyme, and usually an optical brightner to accelerate all aspects of cleaning and the perceived final result.
Is it the back of the jacket thats particularly bad? The face of the stretchy PTJ back fabric is nylon so will stand up to any direct stain remover you can find in a supermarket, but I'd err on the side of the gentle ones and only apply direct to the dirty area and not soak the whole jacket. A quick look and Ace Gentle Stain Remover looks low on the bleach with no bio, or try the old Vanish soap bar, no bleach, but does has a bio enzyme (so avoid if you have skin complaints). Rinse thoroughly :-)

If you've been washing with standard detergents, it probably has surfactant residue which inhibits the original DWR function, and allow moisture to permeate the fabric far quicker (as it's designed to do).
Standard detergents are fantastic for getting standard clothing clean - and increasingly more efficiently at lower temperatures - the surfactant action lowers the surface tension of the water allowing the cleaning chemicals to penetrate further into the fabric structure and yarn itself. For technical fabrics/fibres that have specific performance functions like wicking or waterproofing, the physics are simply contradicting one another.
You can try laundering the PTJ with a specific technical wash like Grangers (after doing a service wash on your machine to remove any regular detergent residue!) and then apply a re-proofer. Make sure you follow the reproofing instructions really closely. You need to 'activate' the new coating with a gentle heat like evenly drying a few cm from a radiator, or with a cool iron, or cool tumble. If you just spray the reproofer on, it's not nearly as effective and you probably won't see any results.
Oh, and don't use a softener either, this has the same wetting-out effect, and definitely no Bio/biological detergents.
This probably seems long-winded, but the more durable and effective DWR's are being phased out (due to environmental concerns of by products in manufacturing) so correct washing and re-application is essential to maintain performance ...much like a bike....
Let us know how you get on!

Nearly got hit by a white Audi 4wd veering into the cyclelane last night as they overtook. Pulled up to their passenger window at the lights, took a while to get their attention because they were so engrossed in their phonecall. When she noticed me saying 'you nearly hit me' I was met with the finger and a 'f*ck you'.... I pointed out she was on her phone, to which she grinned, waved the phone, and continued trying to have the call. Cue daft lurching forward into the traffic as she both tries to ignore what's going on, get away and use her phone.
All topped off nicely when a bloke in the car behind shouted 'leave her alone, she's a lady'.
Kicking myself I didn't take a photo as soon as I saw her on the blower.
