Thanks all!
After a bit of looking around and reading comments, I decided to go with the Kryptonite new york chain. Still gold secure, lighter than Faghedaboutit and I can hopefully adjust the length around my waist.
I'm going to pair it with a full set of pitlocks. Realised the other day that nothing on my bike is insured unless the whole bike is taken.
So getting just one, really strong, lock seems a bit pointless. I'd rather my whole bike was stolen than just a wheel, bars or saddle.
The logic then goes that the weakest point on the whole lock setup should really be the one that links the bike to the immovable object. The lower limit on this being whatever still validates my insurance.

I almost bought an Abus 80cm, but tried a friend's and found that it slipped over my waist to the point that it seriously restricted my movement. Not the lock for me.
Try one on before you buy, especially if you're a waistless wonder.
Cheers. That's exactly what I was worried about. Guess I'll have to find myself a fitting room in a bike shop.

Who wants to do a good samaritan thing? Stand 200m further down the road warning people on bikes? No saluting, though. :p
Pretty hard to miss them from 200m. There were about 35-40, all in hi-vis jackets.
You'd have to be blind to have been caught by them.To be fair, they did shout "morning gents" as I rode past. Shame they didn't nick the guy in the red beemer who was trying his hardest to beat the bikes away from the lights and almost took a couple out. What a twat.
