hi guys, Felix had an awful accident and is in hospital with bad head injuries.
don't exactly know what happened, it appears he was attacked by a driver while on his bike.
it looks like he will recover, hopefully...

I think, UK Champs chooses, top 6 got to worlds. Easy*

*IMO of course, we need a vote, but I'm not sure what the other options are, UK champs, or impossible to organise alternative UK selection tourney.

I agree. It would be very hard to plan another tourney.

I wasn't accusing, I'm not judging, I'm not upset, I'm just saying we need to think about this for next year. It's cool.

We would rather not play with a sub, hence why we never put our name down for this weekend, as we knew lou might be unavailable. I appreciate you guys have a had a rough season for one reason or another, but to pick a single weekend and hope everyone will drop everything so you can finish your games seems a little naieve, especially when there was a european tournament on...

That's not what I expected. But I did think one or two teams might be able to play?

We couldn't have subbed, we only had one player able to play. If we subbed we could have only subbed one person, meaning we would have had to play 2 vs 3. This would have been unfair for us and unfair for everyone who already played us with 3 players.

These things have a way of snowballing on the forum. If enough people say "great idea" then everyone else feels like they have to go along with it. I guess what I was hoping to put out there was let's check with all of the UK before deciding for ourselves what's best. That's what I would think would be "best" and "easiest".

I'm not saying that the UK Champs aren't the easiest/best way of deciding out of the tools that we've been given. What I'm saying this that finding out after the fact that the UK's are going to count for something else more major is unfair.

Ok so why don't we host a vote for al UK Bike Polo Players and ask them to vote on an ambassador and a way of deciding?

First we need to nominate an ambassador, then decide on a way to select the teams. If it is via the UK Champs then that will need to be voted on by all interested players.

It's absolutely not fair. Those who registered or didn't register (more importantly) for the UK Champs had no idea that it was going to be the quali's for the World's.

so what's the scoop with subs?
does no one want to use a sub because they love their team too much or because they feel like it's too hard to get one that isn't in the league or some other reason?
According to the list below I count 5 or 6 teams that could play this weekend if they got a sub. I know it's not as much fun playing with a sub, etc, etc, and I suppose it doesn't really matter if this league takes 6 months to finish or a year, but we should think about the sub issue closely for next year.
Perhaps we should all take a page from Zombie and look at teams that are 4 or 5 members each?

it's basically behind the movie rental place on Broadway Market. Go down the side street that it's on the corner of and the court will be on your left surrounded by a wall.

this is great! We're going to have 2 simultaneous courts being played in London on the same night.

If we don't have enough players we could play 2v2 or we could try some of the NA's training games.
