Thanks for everyone who came down. Fun time despite rather slow start
Particular shout outs to Johnny H for spoke cards, Rollapaluza for offering to provide their gazebo (marvelous weather meant it wasn't needed) and of course Sano for running tings and coming up with such a great site
Sano has got some loose plans to run something similar in the East May but would encourage others to give it a go in other corners of London (step up North West South) - stop watch and chequered flag available to borrow.
Hope to get some results posted up but given current hangover, there's no rush
Love the photos Winston, keen to see any more from the night

That's pretty much bang on where we're going. We'll have some instructions on finding the place tomorrow (Friday) although shouldn't be too hard to track down (apparently). Bottle store around the corner so don't overload your bag with booze. Would also suggest it'll be more fun to meet up at Easts and roll on mass...and it looks like we might have some soup on hand so bring a mug

Am waiting on some area co-ordinates from Sano (have checked out location but not sure where it is exactly on the map). We'll have a link to map on the front page of the thread definitely tomorrow. Would stress it's a bit of an odd location so meeting up at Easts at 6:30 is the easy option.
If you feel like giving a hand PM or give me a ring me http://www.londonfgss.com/post353742-138.html
Do bring some booze and if all goes to plan, we might have something non alcoholic to warm you up so bring a cup along.
Look forward to seeing you down there tomorrow night

Sky pro-cycling team signs up for Tour de France
by James Quilter, Brand Republic 26-Feb-09, 08:50LONDON - BSkyB has partnered with British Cycling to launch a road cycling team with the aim of achieving the first ever British win in the Tour de France, and will be looking to sign two consumer brand sponsors.
The team, which is being launched from scratch, will be branded Team Sky. The move to launch a professional road racing team follows on from its sponsorship of British Cycling's track team.
It will be headed up by British Cycling's director of performance Dave Brailsford who was behind the success of the UK cycling team at the Olympics.
The team's first appearance will be in Australia's Tour Down Under in January next year.
Sky director of commercial group Stephen Nuttall said Team Sky is currently looking to sign up two consumer brands to sponsor the team. It is also yet to sign up kit and bike suppliers.
Nuttall said the popularity of growing popularity of cycling as an activity was largely behind its decision to sponsor the team.
Beyond elite level racing, Sky is also looking to get involved at grass roots level with a series of events around the country. Last year it sponsored the London Freewheel event that allowed cycling unfettered access to the city's roads.
The decision to chase success on the road, and principally the Tour de France, presents an altogether more difficult challenge to the track cycling, so successful in the Olympics.
In the opinion of many observers Britain has never replaced its, arguably, most successful rider Tom Simpson, 1965 world champion and first English speaker to wear the Tour de France yellow jersey.

Think there's plenty of opportunity for spontaneous rides as a way of keeping things manageable. Also think there's opportunity for some rides marked out as for experienced riders as there's a vast gulf between riders who cycle down to the local drinks and those for who are a bit more closely acquainted with the country lanes outside of London
