I would't feel happy leaving any of the bikes you listed above locked up in town for any length of time really. If you're splashing on a nice frame it's the price you pay, personally I think it's worth it.
Also it's probably better to leave it unpainted and also unstickered in terms of tubing make / composition, you know what it is but everyone else doesn't need to. Ti does have a unique look but not so unique that most people wouldn't just assume it's aluminium. Plus you have the advantage of not having to worry about chipping paint etc.

Yes, I do miss them at times, for being able to vary hand position and also to really wrench the bike up hills. That said, looks are important ish, I want my bike to look nice and I personally think that having a dummy hood or even a redundant lever is not that pretty and there are still various positions that I can use on the drops that other bars don't offer. Using the drops without hoods has strengthend muscles not previously used as much too, due to the different position used when out of the saddle. I might give bullhorns a try but I do like drops a lot.

If you want a better idea of speeds given from various combos and cadences then this little tool is pretty handy.

It should be law here too Wisey, I crashed on the way home tonight, wheels went from underneath me when overtaking a bus, smacked my helmet on the floor with enough force to smash it, if it had been my bare head I would at least be in hospital now, maybe in the morgue. Thing is I wasn't even turning sharply, no drain covers, no idea why it happened and it happened so quickly that I couldn't even put a hand out or anything. It has really made me think of the very rare occassion when I don't wear it, to the point where there will no longer be rare occassions like that. Brain injury is not fun by all accounts.

hippy Don't they already have your contact details if they've won your auction?
He hasn't even won yet, that is the problem. He's trying to do things outside of Ebay by the looks of things, which they strongly advise against. I told him to get lost anyway and he's not been back yet.
peejay78 if he is actually your cousin, like he says he is, then surely there's no issue?
"give your email for paypal cuz"
Ha ha, problem is he's not from the good side of the family so I need to tread carefully.

I just got this message from someone looking at an item I have for sale on Ebay: 'give your email for paypal cuz i must send money via paypal i have some problems with pay normal on pay pal'.
I told him I only want to complete the transaction within Ebay, using Paypal. It pays to be suspicious in these circumstances I reckon. Has anyone else experienced anything like this or have any idea what, if he is being dodgy, he would be hoping achieve by his actions? It just seems really odd.

andrewleitch86 I like to pass on the right but it's quite scary when cars are going the other way. I've seen a few of the cyclist ahead boxes or whatever they're called with a lane down the middle between the two traffic lanes.
That's the best place for them though. It might be intimidating but it's safer than sending cyclists left, especially if they want to turn right. It's where they have them in a lot of places in Europe, where there is a need for cyclists to be on the road rather than cycle paths (which seem to be good on the whole, unlike here).

Platini But they are still making their mark-up on the parts they sell, to people who go down the self-assembly route. I can't see it as a matter of right or wrong, especially if they are happy to oblige...
I think we are agreeing here? Yeah they still make their mark up, as they should, I just disagree with making their standard profit and then charging more for being paid by cyclescheme. I know that they have to pay a percentage of the voucher price to the scheme to be part of it but I would not have spent as much as I did had it not been for the scheme, so they benefit from me paying like that in the end. OK they could have sold the stuff to someone else for more profit, if they paid cash, but that is not how the scheme is sold to the shops, it's all about bigger total spend per customer. Condor are charging 10% on top of the bike price to use the scheme with them, depsite the fact that the people using it would probably not be there if it weren't for the scheme. I guess they just don't need the custom.
To be clear, Putney just sold me the bits at the standard price, depsite paying using CS.
Anyway Viva La Scheme!

Nice, would be better if they weren't the same on each sleeve but still...
