Don't knock Wales, it has vistas and mountains to climb...
+1. great mtb country. good for road riding as well as it is quiet and have good rd surface. top scenery and in most parts, all you'll hear is nature itself...sometimes i like the nothingness. wales is great cos it reminds me what i miss in london ;) stay away from the cities tho. depressing and grey. did someone dis wales for bad food? dunno but ive heard of a place in nth wales that serves the best roast lamb...didnt get to try it cos it had a week long reservation list!
as mentioned, skip stonehenge. it's no biggy. if you're dying to see it, head for somerset or cotswolds via the A road it's on (nicer part of england...them+lake district on top of my list). stick a camera out of the car when stonehenge is on target, take a couple of pics.
on london. i take visitors to the markets (eg borough, spitalfields, camden). on a bike, do a circuit around the thames and go around tiny hidden streets of the city (on a sunday). i find going around the old london wall and it's rediscovered remains interseting as well.

evans was consistent last year in all the mountain stages. if he does the same this tour and keep the gap to within 2mins evans should bag the yellow in the ITT. sastre and valverde looked strong and comfortable yesterday.
stoked that gerrans won the stage. and beat the american! pate stayed on the tail of the breakaway group all day and never helped out. it was only until the final climb that he was forced to go up front. i wouldve been pretty pssd off if he had won.

Generally speaking, the Asian physique doesn't lend itself well to riding professionally. Shorter legs make it tough to keep up.
asia is massive. so you cant really generalise. unless of course, by saying asia, you mean subcontinent (asians in uk are just that...and the rest are chinese!). even if you mean just the subcontinent asians, saying they're short, dunno about that. i know a few who are over 6ft.
I think that the reason track cycling is big in Japan is because of the parallels with zen / discipline, that make the sport socially respectable.
well, i dont think it's that. the 'other' asians are into gambling. been to macau?
