dont think you can judge track sprints by their winning margins. there's psych factor there. some pull up as soon as they're passed. anyway, good to see hoy win, he seems an alright down to earth nice guy. it'll be more sus if it was won by some overcompetitive cocky pricks (eg ricco/cavendish*)
saw bit of bbc interviewing some aussies re getting beaten in the olympics + some news print on the same thing. why does the media feel that they need to go out of their way and check up on aussie reactions? seems like blatant gloating to me. so the big wind up is not just happening here. sometimes it is not enough beating the world is it?
anyway, seen it all before (ashes/rugby). doesnt take long for the brits to turn on their own. as RPM demonstrated yesterday on the madison + nimbles vs andyp. even funnier to watch unfold. happens all the time :)
*dont think he's drugged. just dont like him. i see him as the c ronaldo of cycling

So why aren't ALL the medals being won by China and the US and Russia?
by your argument no one else should get a look in - they have such massive populations, how could anyone else compete?seen the medals table? these are countries on top! even russia, they're up there for total no of medals. you're right. no one else gets a look in

as I've said before, the population thing is bollocks...
it is not bollocks tho. kids grow up sticking to just one or two sports. smaller population means smaller pool to choose from. and even smaller if you break this down to diff sports. and even smaller with the majority sticking to aussie rules and rugby (although no diff here as boys in uk going for a football career and girls WAGs/glamour model careers)
