Evilmonkey Tonight was the first commute of the season when I might have used lights and it got me to thinking. Now that I have 3 bikes and really use any of them based on a whim, I was thinking of moving to 100% wearable lighting. Basically to save me having 3 sets of fittings \ lights.
Would this be legal?
Given that we're also supposed to have reflectors all over the shop (first thing I ripped off when I got the bike home...), do you think it'll attract mr plods attention?
Red rear reflector and red light on the back, white light on the front, and yellew reflectors on the rearward facing edges of the pedals.
You can light yourself up all you like.

htay these are good.
Sounds good too. I really like the normal LIFA base layers that Helly do - don't go smelly at all and wick perfectly.

MA3K Picture?
Why?
If I get it done on time, you might see it on Saturday. The only things on my bike with NJS on them.
I thought the idea was that you only really needed one on the chain side because that's where most of the pressure comes from anyway, and I'm not sure I want to be messing around with two of these things if I have to fix a p***ture.

My new chaintugs arrived today - but the instructions are in Japanese :-(.
I'm only going to fit one on the chain side, but before I do I just wanted to be sure that the correct way to use this is to use the tug to get the wheel centred and then crank down the nut, or do I get the nuts tight and then set the tug to hold the axle in place?
Ta.

fatbloke Ha ha ha. I AM that bloke who has just bought one, though I haven't picked it up yet. I went into the shop today for a new road bike (Scott S20), saw the Langster London, liked the look of it (really!) and took it for a test ride. It was the first time I'd ever ridden a single-speed bike and was so blown away by it that I bought them both!
Now I find out that I'm going to be laughed at. Great. But if these bikes turn more people onto fixed/singlespeed riding, you shouldn't be so harsh on them. I've spent all night on the web reading about them (just signed up to this thing too) and now I'm going to convert the beautiful '60s Gillott 531 road bike I have in the garage to a fixie... will you still laugh at me then?
Where do I go for cool bits?
If you read enough of these posts, you'll realise that someone's always taking the piss out of someone (including me). You like it, you enjoy it. Seriously - good for you.
Bring it along to one of the rides, and I bet you'll have people wanting to try it out.
Different strokes, for different folks, sort of thing.

charlie1 would it be cool if i came along? i have never done a group ride thing before. i will be there from 6.30 though will any one else be early?
Of course it's cool; More the merrier.
I'll be early (Black Fuji). hippy and photoben might be early as well - keep an eye out for them. A fat bloke, and the skinny one will be riding around no-handed.

jonnywilkinson i will be up for this if a few others are. has to be riding back though. after the leisurely ride down should be no problem just breaking fast and riding back. have done Ditchling a few times, not that bad on 48x18.
i am assuming that the leisurely ride is going to take in a helluva lot stops for that timing
I wasn't able to get up Ditchling in the lowest gear on my hybrid. I don't think that going up Ditchling is the worst, it could be the long downhill drag into Brighton. Great on a freewheel, but not so good on fixed.
Don't know yet. But if I did - I'd be up for riding back after a gut-buster breakfast.

Love to go but can't.
It's on my LoveFilm DVD queue, but they haven't got a release date for it.
