- I was going to buy a new bottom bracket (there was an unused 105 on here for £15 but it went too quickly) but new they are quite expensive in English 109.5. If you have an Italian threaded frame then they are cheaper.
as for v1 Apparently Ultegra is the one to go for - marginally heavier than dura ace but a fully sealed cartridge.
7710 = cartridge style with seals NJS dura ace track BB, super $$$
7703 = sealed triple dura ace
7700 = not sealed, plastic casing - what I had. worked beautifully but needed maintenance.
6500 = sealed ultegra, cheaper, no maintenance, apparently excellent alternative to the 7710.
5500 = sealed (i believe) 105http://www.lfgss.com/thread29696.html
I still have the old 7700 bottom bracket but it needs replacing...

I have an original dutch bobbin "redy shopper". Bought it from Bobbin when they had just got their first premises, back in 2007 I think. Well looked after and not seen many miles. It has a nice big basket (fixed on and well supported with a bracket) and dynamo lights. I'll be putting up a proper for sale ad with pics shortly but pm me in the mean time.

1) vote for my carradice pendle - it's big enough for two days in the sun, if you hang flip flops from the side and stay with friends or in hotels
2) i'm going on a 5 day tour and want to go reasonably light, but still take sleeping bag and tarp and hopefully camp. I have a bagman and i don't have eyelets for a rear rack anyway so I'd rather buy a big saddle bag than panniers. will the biggest carradice bag be big enough (24 ltrs I think) or does anyone know of any bigger options? or is bigger than that foolhardy anyway?

1) I have some NOS chrome threaded 1" forks for 27" wheels - they have been in storage since I don't know when but they have never been fitted. I will measure the thread length (long though, good to be cut down for probably most frames) and post images and further details this evening.
PM me if interested.

southwark bridge road / upper thames street junction is very funny today - the police were standing there trying to stop cyclists, but they all just got off, crossed as peds and carried on. They have now blocked one ped crossing and reopened the cycle crossing going up towards queen street. One motorbike policeman can't stop 20 cyclists every time the lights change...
