I just bought some from brootzo in Greece, if you’re looking for brass/chrome/nautical stuff. Quality TBC when it eventually arrives, v funny website though - 100 year guarantee, 200% customer service etc

I am in the process of putting a Rohloff on a drop bar bike.

I have used Campagnolo 10 speed shifters (v2?), and taken out the button shifter in each side. He has a couple of videos on YouTube, which I watched, understood what he was trying to achieve and then hopefully replicated it… I haven’t got as far as testing yet. Basically he says replace the little ratchet pinion wheel in the shifter with washers of the same size, but on shifters I’m using the ratchet whee had a square slot not a round hole, so I have kept it but ground all the teeth off (one tooth on the left shifter, 9 on the right iirc, for 2 and 10 gears respectively).

You just need a “loose” (ie not indexed) lever that can pull some cable, and another one that can pull some cable back again. Id have to think whether friction shifters would work, I can’t immediately decide.

The rohbox has the indexing in it. I’ll have one lever to change up and one lever to change down (haven’t decided which way round yet left / right, any logical reason to do one or other?)

Although, do you mean sky lights?

Sometimes called French windows. I have been researching, as yet it is unclear to me if I can have flush fitting AND French, and also they seem more restricted in size - at least the cheap ones I’ve been looking at do

I’m trying and failing to find leather - I want matching leather to recover a saddle, probably make handlebar tape, and mudguard flaps.

Think I need 1mm thickness for saddle and 2mm for mudguard flaps and tape.

The second lightest brown here looks about the right colour, but I don’t fancy getting it from China with barely any information (does it make any sense worrying about animal rights when you’re trying to buy dead animal skins? Probably not, I don’t know).

Anyone have any recommendations? I’m near Bristol if in person is best.

What did you do/learn/decide?

Harder if it is a “flush” shower tray, I.e. same level as the floor. Easier if there is a step up into the shower. Sometimes it runs above floor level, through boxing. Always looks worse

Anyone have recommendations for shed paint? Ideally I would like to repaint the shed as infrequently as possible, for the lowest cost possible…

Get a friend to hold the bottom of the ladder - or better still, get a friend to clear the gutter while you hold the ladder
