Slightly off-topic, but this seems like the best place to put it: I have a wheel with a 4 speed nexus hub in it, I'd like to get a trigger shifter that works with it (you can't buy the originals I don't think, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong). Presumably the only important thing is cable pull - i suppose it is too much to hope that a sturmey archer trigger would work? eg this 3 / 4 speed one from ebay?

inside leg, for tall people.
I don't know what my definition of ethical is - Made in the UK would be good, our labour laws are pretty tight. I guess M&S is ethical enough, Howies were, I don't know if they still are. Gap is not.
[edit 1: oh. I jusy checked the inside leg measurements for Albam and they do indeed go up to 38"! I will now research their ethics.
Thank you kboy.
I'll stop derailing the thread now...]
[edit 2: gah. maybe they don't]

Geared question:
I have a trek OCLV from 1998, it had an octalink BB (Dura ace 7700) and chainset (ditto), which need replacing. I want to upgrade to hollowtech. Is there any reason why these wouldn't fit:
ultegra bottom bracket 1 or 2 (and why would I / anyone pay more for 6600 rather than 6700?)
?
The BB shell on the frame has recently been faced, it's english threaded....

Pictures to follow, but for the time being, I am looking for a pinch bolt (or alternative suggestions) to replace one that has threaded on my friend's rear 1980s miche brake caliper. The bolt seems to be the other way round to normal -
it is a fat bolt (I am guessing M8, but I will measure and photograph)
it has a flat head, and in the threaded section, quite near the other end, it has a hole for the cable to go through, the hole is at the opposite end to any other similar bolt I have seen (and the bolt is bigger) -http://www.theoldbicycleshowroom.co.uk/caliper-brake-cable-clamps-248-p.asp
NOT like this one.
Does anyone a) understand from my poor description what I want b) know where I could find such a thing?
Thank you
1) Maybe jtek or someone could make a travel adaptor so the cable shift was right, but to do that I'd need to know the cable pull for both a sturmey archer 4 speed lever and my nexus hub....
2) maybe one of the newer SA thumb shifters would work, but again, i don't know the cable pulls.
