Yo yo yo
As some of you might know, I have a baby on the way - hence my extended absence from West Beers and other such stuff. I've been told to clear out our spare room (previously used for storage of my shit), since this is now being called 'the nursery'...
Anyhoo, I have a few things that I just don't have need of and therefore want to get rid of. I am happy to sell or trade them - what I really need is a saddle and a conti gator skin tyre. Or someone to rebuild my back wheel (I have spokes, just need labour/expertise and use of a truing stand). Other than that I take cash or consider freecycle, depending on interest. You lot are getting first dibs before I head to the 'Bay.

Harman Kardon amp**
Works fine just that we have 3 x other amps and only 3 floors to our house!Speaker stands

Nothing wrong with these - our shelf speakers are now on shelves.Burton 03/04 Prototype Snowboard - GONE

Mid season board hence the factory non graphics. In perfect nick (only used like 2 or 3 weeks) - doesn't match the Mrs new snowboard outfit so she had to buy a new deck! :) Free to whoever wants.Vans Gabe Morford 'Ninja' - GONE

Not even been taken out of the packAs I say, I'm after a decent saddle or a new conti gator skin tyre or someone to rebuild my back wheel. Or I'll take cash, bags of Monmouth coffee, bottles of Sierra Nevada Pale ale...
Based in Hammersmith, very close to West beers. PM with specific questions

He's on the show to talk about cycle hols. Anything else you'd want to know from him? Post on this thread and your question could be on the show.

Went to Huf in SF and they had some sweet sneaks. Most went over my head but couldn't resist the Gabe Morford series for Vans. Picked up a pair of Half Cab x GM - sweet. Would share but no picture on teh interwebz.
Also, I have a pair of these that I'm not that keen on. Not box fresh but only worn a coupla times, anyone interested?

Rules for a cafe ride:
1) You must be on a bike whose performance vastly exceeds your own
2) Said machine must be spotlessly clean and should have little to no sign of sustained use
3) Best riding clothes must be worn: ideally something suited to a Rapha photoshoot
4) Distance travelled should not exceed 5 miles
5) erm, that's it... -

If I get a micro-second to think before letting out the obscene blasphemies I try to scream something like "AAAARRRGH! you really scared the shit out of me, stepping/driving out like that!!"
The target then knows that you are both frightened and angry and that it may have been their fault. Sometimes they break down immediately and apologise, very rarely do I get an angry response. If I react without thinking, like Crazy J, then i'm more likely to get a wild response.
+1 to this. Hard to do - I reckon I react half the time like dancing james & half like chilled out charlie. Saying they scared the shit out of you turns you into the offended party - it is a good way of reminding them that you were potentially injured, not their sturdy car. It's also very disarming. (When I've called someone a cunt and then see they are big and scary I normally change tack pretty quick and go for this option instead! :)) -
I'm thinking about this. Any thoughts?

I have the version from a few years ago. Mine is a comfortable ride over long distances but stiff enough and climbs well (altho it looks like the frame has been tweaked a fair bit since I bought).I now feel a need to explain my decision given the rest of the thread: I was only given the option of getting a Giant bike (I got it cheap), so it's not the first brand I'd like to have bought to reflect my good taste in bikes (and stop people judging me harshly around RP). But as the world's biggest bike manufacturer*, Giant's buying power makes them well specced for the prize (viz also Hippo's S-Works).
I won't buy a better bike until this one gives up and I'm a better rider. I would feel like a bit of a cunt riding a ~£5k bike given I'm not even a mid standard club rider.
*my understanding - until some smart arse on teh interwebs tells me different
