Someone's owned up, I covered it this morning;

For what seems like the hundredth time since I moved to London, I'm flat-hunting. My last day in this place is December 3rd, and I'll be glad to see the back of it; over-priced, filthy, nothing works and the landlord pops in without warning while I'm at work.
I'm looking for a place where I can leave a couple of bikes safely, unpack my books for the first time in ages and spend the next year not having any flat-related headaches. I'm not too fussy about location because I work quite centrally.
I'm pretty laid back, but I work quite long hours, so to be honest I'm not always around being super-social in the evenings. On the other hand, it's great when you can find flatmates you want to hang out in the pub with.
Anyone else in a similar situation, or have a spare room starting at the end of the year?

I thought I'd give the Cycle London photo competition a shot, but it doesn't look like the Shoreditch polo tournament is a welcome topic. Even though it had council backing. Go figure.
Hi there,
Thanks for submitting your photos to our group.
Unfortunately we can't accept some of them as they look
like they might encourage dangerous riding.Please feel free to submit other photos to the group which
meet our criteria.Best wishes

I did it on a geared tourer, a nice old 531 steel one. Fixed would have been way too hard - the route had some 13% climbs, and some 23km descents. We budgeted two weeks, but went for it and did it in 6 days, except the last little bit. We had more time in Barcelona because of that, but we were also wrecked. Total distance I don't know exactly, but it looks like this on Google Maps, without all the climbs and diversions.

Has anyone ever seen anything like Bike in the cafe at the summit of the Col du Tourmalet on Flickr - Photo Sharing!@@AMEPARAM@@http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3265/2839734094_088c421a8d.jpg?v=0@@AMEPARAM@@2839734094@@AMEPARAM@@088c421a8d? It looks mad. There was also a Bike in the cafe at the summit of the Col du Tourmalet on Flickr - Photo Sharing!@@AMEPARAM@@http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3221/2838900335_faa4e7eb96.jpg?v=0@@AMEPARAM@@2838900335@@AMEPARAM@@faa4e7eb96 up there.

I've just finished my great Biarritz to Barcelona adventure. I'm still shattered.
Highlights;
- Four mountains from the TdF route, and the mad descents once I'd finally dragged myself to the top.
- Crazy, beautiful views everywhere.
- 5 days R&R upon arrival in Barcelona.
Lowlights;
- Having to get a taxi the last few miles because of a "new" motorway which wasn't on our map. Massive anti-climax.
- Legs nearly falling off.
- Getting fined by the French police for running a red light (90 Euros) and paying a lot more than that by accident because I thought he was fining two of us.

Does anyone know who organises the placement of Ghost Bikes in the UK? I'm trying to get hold of someone for a short interview, fairly urgently. I've emailed the admin of www.ghostcycle.org.uk, who I think are the main people behind the thing, right?
Cheers,

But it works for routing passengers via ferries - given that path costs are time, then you get a overall topology that will show you the fastest way between node A and node B. However, you need to run Dijkstra's for each node in the graph to find the quickest way between any two arbitrary nodes.
SPF algorithms are awesome.
I think he's trying to calculate journey times for ferry crossings, not the shortest route between a set.
