I've asked Lewisham building control for advice, and any records they may have. But I think this stuff was done years ago. I've spoken to next door and they're not interested in exploring: "it'll be OK" is their take. I don't see what else I can do, but I'm told I'll be liable if any problems arise during my work, which doesn't sit well with me.

We're having some work done soon that will involve removing a chimney breast downstairs and upstairs, with support in the loft for the remaining stack. We've got planning permission, had the structural engineer round, got building control working, all that stuff. But in sorting the party wall our surveyor saw that next door has removed their downstairs chimney breast and left upstairs. He couldn't see if it had been supported properly, and neighbour has no knowledge or paperwork. My architect says he's spoken to the structural engineer and there's no problem with us starting, but the party wall guy said that if the stack next door collapses because of vibration it's on us to fix it. I've suggested to next door that they get a surveyor in to take a look at what's going on, but I don't get a feeling of urgency from them. What steps should I take?

Anyone interested in a Partscaster made of a lovely 1998 Mexican Fender neck with a vintage 7.25" radius, paired with a Squier body and some mystery upgrade parts like CTS pots and what could be an American pickguard and no-idea-what-they-are-but-they-sound-decent pickups?
It plays really nicely but I bought it on a whim and I just don't need it and can't justify having it when I have another Strat already.

This will be heading to eBay soon, but I'd much rather a forumenger had it.
