What about a wiki? We could have a page for drivetrain database, one for shop contacts, one for framebuilders, one for powder-coaters, articles on how to do common fixes. Basically a place to keep the information that seems to come up all the time. I've started one here that we could try out, not sure if anyone can edit, might have to tweak the settings. What do you reckon?

Right, so a 1/8" chain whip it is then? And a lock-ring tool? The Dura-Ace one looks like it has one built in, which is handy. So, what are the two chain lengths for? How do you crank it on? Once the cog is on tight, then you just slip the lock-ring on and tighten the hell out of it, right? Should I grease everything before I fit it?

I've just built a rear wheel on a Phil track hub, and now I need to get a cog on there. The nearest thread to the hub, which the cog sits on, looks like it will be wider than a cog to me. Are these things fatter than they look on the internet, or do you have to add spacers? I'm going to go for a Phil cog, to match, me thinks.

No, I'm not saying that - it's a bad analogy. These computers were not "unlocked", but were poorly secured, mostly because they contained nothing particularly sensitive.
However, he still broke in, and broke the law. He deserves to be punished, but also deserves no respect for the technical merit of his crimes.

Well, if someone broke into my house I would be livid, whether or not they stole anything. This guy did nothing special. The media is hung up on the fact that these machines he gained access to were Pentagon computers - in reality, they were nothing that sensitive, and the security was obviously minimal.

So, I'm off touring later this month, and I need to get some panniers. Ortlieb seem to be the alpha-brand, but are they worth it?
I don't want to spend two weeks with wet clothes, so maybe I should splash out on them. Any thoughts?
Also, does anyone have any sage advice on what to take? I was thinking two sets of shorts/base layers, a set of normal clothes, small toolkit, etc, but is there anything that you guys recomend I stuff in my yet-to-be-bought panniers?
