what you think about the white one (not shown here so far)???

the lettering is not the best but otherwise I quite like it. Thinking of that one for myself. Not too keen on the retro look if the frame isn't really old -

That would be me, around 4pm in Islington today. It's a Colnago Master Pista Track, i haven't seen anyone else riding that particular frame yet. I'll put a pic up sometime......Hi to you.
thats a beauty Briz. Post me a pict sometime. I have a colnago master road bike (and too many fixed bikes). Where did you get it from?

I know what you are all thinking, and to be honest I am thinking the same.
Should these people really be on bikes ? It makes me uncomfortable, it's just wrong, I can't say why, but I know it is wrong, if you are out on a lovely Summer's afternoon and a cripple on a bike pulls up next to you at the traffic lights and starts talking to you it pretty much ruins your afternoon.
We all pay good money in taxes so these people can have wheelchairs and leg irons and all they do is throw it back in our faces by demanding we should be give over more tax payer's money to buy them bicycles like normal people ride.
This is political correctness gone mad in my opinion.
this was meant a joke, right? A bad one though. just think for a second you get hit by a truck and loose a leg (as it almost happened to some people on this forum) Would you stop riding if there was a chance you still could?

honestly, fuck those shops.
I often even bring my bike inside of the shop if its just something I can sort out quickly. Boots, local cafe, Pret, EAT, Post office, NatWest, etc. NatWest staff even told me I can bring my bike inside.
If they don't like it there are plenty of competitors, I just go somewhere else. I have also cancelled meetings with clients when I couldn't bring my bike into their office. -

Rapha may be pricy but you pay for a good service as far as I am concerned. Ripped my Rapha cycling shorts on the saddle, totally my fault, sent it back to them. They repaired it free of charge within 10 days and even refunded the postage for sending it to them. My woolen fixed jersey has a hole on the elbow, just from constant long term use, nothing wrong with the product. I wrote them an e-mail and they said send it over we repair it for you. I am quite busy usually so I really appreciate that kind of thing. Running around getting it repaired myself would probably have cost more time and money than the price difference between Rapha and other brands.

Ok, I'll spend some more time browsing. But it appears that 95% of the threads are dominated by discussions of whether it's sensible to forgo a brake for aesthetics or which bit of a tyre gets worn down by stopping.
But, indeed, I should spend some more time looking around.forget about aestethics and fit a proper front break and a not to high gear ratio. I am riding fixed for about 3 years and still wouldn't go breakless. I even wear a helmet which is probably very uncool. but who cares.

the trick is not trying to trackstand out of a standing position. Basically just balancing. I tried that for ages and it never worked. Its much easier to ride into a trackstand position. ride slowly, then turn the wheel in the same direction that your strongest food is. Then come to a standstill and push down with the other food. It takes a little while but then its real easy. I find it much easier than doing long skids.
have fun -

doing it again this year. probably geared.
