in a couple of years hipsters will ditch the brakeless fixed for something more suitable for rolling round their hood
Personally I have been waiting for years for that, can't wait - "Oh so you don't like your Phils anymore? You're right they are heavy and impractical - here let me take them off you.."
hehehe -
lower fi than decks would be necessary in a park that is true.. but then sound systems tend to draw in other people - and generally speaking then it becomes less safe
If you wanted to do an acutal sound system then we'd run into issues no matter what park was being used.. unless we were having a "private party" and we're too late to get a TEN licence.RE:loos - Depends on which park we go to. Boys are ok anywhere, us girls will need to find a close friendly. LF has C&Mutton or LondonFields pub. Vic Park has The Royal..

I own a custom mercian.. and if your looking for a OTP
VINCITORE 631 is around £560 now.I have to say that the crew there were amazing..
IMHO both frame makers are good.
If you want something a bit unique or custom though for the same sort of cash then it may be worthwhile having a chat with Ross of Brixton cycles. He's doing some excellent frames now around the £600-700 mark I believe but you'd need to check.. (*i know that's above your £400 but we are talking custom)
I've ridden one of his and it made me soooo jealous. -

this is close to central but still north and can be gotten to with minimal / no climbing it also has a FANTASTIC VIBE - massive garden and is bike friendly.
Ahhh, I see you chose a place already.. hmmm.

"I dont know if keith races but he's fast.."
nelly and wingnut told me he's a wheelsucking chancer with no finesse on a bike.
that wouldn't stop me buying some ultra rare cerise bar tape or a pink saddle from himPerspective: this is coming from nelly and **wingnut. Ex-messengers and CAT riders... **
Wingnut has plenty of grace on a bike absolutely.. keith can still decend faster and better although Wingnut drops him on the climbs. Both of them are still faster than me.. ;(

I am wracking my brains to think but about 15 years ago I had a puncture repair kit with a 6"x6" square of patch in it, also a small scalpel blade. Basically you cut your own patches to size.
Make mental note to locate one again, have only basic repair kit with me now :-(
Scalpel blade would be ace... I typically carry a manicure set and used the scissors.
the other bonus of the Halfords patch sheet is that it's really cheap ;) -
the place really isnt a "boutique"
its a nice little venture in a studio space setup by riders that use this forum. Much like roberto, fixed gear london & hubjub I hear of.
Its the most UNpretentious thing you could imagine. They are nice fellas, keith actually does a bit of track racing and jos's dad if I remember right runs a cycle club in Belgium, who gets his mates & contacts all over europe to hand over there old steel!
Just go for a visit, its very chilled out and quite unknown at the moment, Its likely their will be no-punters in there when you get there. When they have the webisite up I imaging demand for gear will outstrip supply, so Id get there sharpish.
No hispters, I promise!
I went over the Tour de Ville last night when I realised i didn't have a brake for cuppa.. I live 2 mins from the boys and so I was really hoping they had something. It took keith about 10 mins to ring me back and tell me he had one. That's service.
I rolled over, we chatted. I mentioned them being talked about on the forum and he's promised to come to South's (2 4 1 burgers were the key!) so if you want to meet him you can.
No one could ever call Keith or Jos hipsters. They just like bikes and know their stuff. Jos is a dutch junior champ, I dont know if keith races but he's fast.. -
Riding along Hackney Road towards Cambridge Heath Station I had a** plastic fork** tear out the sidewall of my tire and inner. Both were utterly shredded and not at all repairable even by Jacqui standards..
that's one helluva fork dude..
Strange that they were like that at LF? I know some shops don't like people fixing their bike in the shop but if they are not going to let you in to use the pump the least they can do is come out with you with the pump - what if you didn't have a CC???
I'd just like to point out to the medium group that I am in fact with Object, MA3K and Ren on the train from VICTORIA not riding.
