the only luxury my repair kit has is a roll of patches from Halfords.. I cut made to measure chunks and then held my breath and hoped that they wouldn't stick together.

Normally I wouldn't post about something as mundane as a puncture but today I found myself in unfamilliar SE16 with what I can only describe as the worst puncture I have ever had. To make it worse, I didnt have a spare so I had to repair it... which if you'd have asked me before I would have said it was impossible. so i am fairly chuffed that it's now holding air.

Ted, you should send them back, Rapha will do a swap no worries. There should have been a return form with the package when it arrived.
Rapha bibs come in L, XL etc., but the Fixed shorts definately come in inches.

jacqui most parks you can't bbq on at all, so a bit inconvenient for eating anything apart from chips and dips

that's true, however london fields is lenient in this respect. I have used lilttle disposable BBQs on multiple occasions and the park keepers are generally ok with it so long as you have the BBQ above the grass so you're not scorching the lawn.

(and clean up after yourself of course!)

honestly I would prefer a park over any bar but if it's going to be a bar then C&H would be cool. Perhaps we can buy a keg at discount from them or have a drinks deal for the night?
