edmundane those rims look like those halo ones MA3K's got on his surly... takes nothing less than 700-28 tyres
asm ma3k doesnt have deep vs, he has some form of super dooper offroad rims that he told me what they were but i can't remember what he said. Thus they take 28c tyres.
yeah, i know, they're halo ones, not deep v's

NorthLondonLight "this place
http://www.56a.org.uk/bikeshop.html"
Sorry to rain on your parade but I used to live near this place and visited to find that they no longer run the self-help workshop due to lack of volunteers to man it or Health and Safety issues Additionally the site was last updated September 2005 which gives a little backing to my assertion/assumption.
NLLwhen was the last time you went?
i was there 2 months ago and they just added a few more bits even got a park tools workstand... if they really stopped it it's a shame. -
how should i start...
i'm quite easy with it as well really, as long as the place is big enough (i have quite a lot of stuff and 3 bikes already and i'm sure there'll be more) and cleaniness is vital (dirty bastard flatmates = my reason for wanting to move). and hopefully it wont be too expensive... -

saw a really nice set NOS with box last last week i think it went for 185... it wont be cheap you might actually have better luck paying for a new record track chainset... and i really think it's better to use that road one for a geared bike... thing with record road is that one of the arms are hidden below the arm it'll be tricky to get a single stack bolt on it, i'm not even sure if it's possible...
