yeah, hubjub is great.
BringMeMyFix
photoben I'm dissappointed that none of those BB comments were from me. I feel I'm letting down my Essex heritage.
Where in Essex exactly? Just wondering as I also spent my yoot being harrassed at bus stops by groups of Sharons and Traceys in white stilettoes (possibly an earlier era to yourself).
shall we do a ride to essex then gents?

I've got an old skool maillard track hub double fixed, a condor sprocket and a dura ace lockring.
after some skidding/trackstanding and whatever that applies backwards pressure, the sprocket will slip a bit.i've been tightening the damn thing up well bloody tight, rotafixing the sprocket THEN tightening the lockring to the point i feel i have to stop before i strip the threads, but it still happens...
so i'm wondering if anyone knows anything about these hubs - are dura ace lockrings actually compatible with them or do i need campy ones? i just find it rather unlikely they take campy ones... or are there any other french oddity out there i don't know of?

Release weight of the back of the bike and, when your feet are horizontal, pull up with the front foot and lock the rear using clipless pedals.Because that's what riding fixed is all about.... without that control over the rear wheel (and the fun factor) it would just be like riding a bike where your legs don't stop going round.
don't really need clipless pedals, i don't and i skid quite a lot too. on the contrary a lot of people into doing tricks use clip and straps. and i would say try not to use the front foot focus on pushing now
i wont say it's what it's all about, sheldon the godfather of fix doesn't do it, bikesnob NYC is against skidding, both of them don't ride brakeless but maybe that's another reason for you to do it :P

haven't tried any of them myself but if you'd like to be able to choose exactly what you want the bareknuckle is the way to go. you don't waste time and money swapping out things that you don't want. you just get the frame, choose whatever and put it together.
