It was one of the better Super Bowls of recent memory, though to be honest, haven’t had many duffers in the last five to ten years. Much better than some of the low scoring defenders heavy slog fests I had to stay up for through the 00s.
Despite philly fans whining about the pass interference call, and Greg Olsen falling on their side, defender had got away with another hold earlier on ju ju in the game, which was more egregious, and he held on this play as well, not as obviously, but still a hold.
Glad mahomes got the 2nd ring early rather than late, so there can be no diminishing of his prowess as a qb, because he only had one ring. Now it’s up to him where he finally lands in the race to be better than Brady, rather than constantly being whittled away at because of his lack of multiple championships.

Was a really good game, chiefs defence did enough to prevent the eagles from making it a blowout, and keeping the scores relatively close, and mahomes and the offence did the rest. Apart from hurts fumbling (which he recovered from pretty quickly and played well after) game was pretty close to perfect, and exciting all the way down to the kneel downs before the final field goal..

Would watch again.

Was listening to the around the nfl podcast and it seems Payton was looking for as much control and money as possible. So if Wilson isn’t up to much he’ll be able to ship him out without any issue. Wonder who he’ll get in as gm or if he’ll deal with personnel and cap issues himself. Got the sense from the podcast that he’ll be as much of a one man organisation as has ever existed in the nfl, and without billionaire cash behind him to keep adding talent as the salary cap rises year on year..

Eagles 49ers a bit of a damp squib after purdy got bounced out of the game.
Wanted the 49ers to lose but wanted the game to be competitive. 49ers defense kept them in it for a bit and then took them out of it with needless penalties..

Eagles chiefs will be an exciting super bowl. Chiefs defense did enough to limit the bengals offense at key times and mahomes was mobile enough to move in the pocket and hit some key passes..

I worry that Mahomes could get swallowed up by that Bengals pass rush, before he got injured the jags rush was getting to him and forcing him to do mahomesian things in terms of navigating the pocket, stepping up, rolling out to get enough space and time to throw to his receivers. Bengals defense feels like it's underrated, and it put a beating on josh allen and the bills, without blitzing a lot of the time, if Mahomes is hindered enough by the ankle injury, could be a difficult time for the chiefs..

Realised my dislike of the 49ers has hit new heights, despite picking them for the super bowl (let’s not speak about the bills team of destiny thing) my dislike meant I was rooting for the cowboys, the cowboys!!! Fuck!
Eagles and 49ers will be a game for the ages.. it feels like they are so closely matched, good defenses, good offenses, big play receivers… think this could be a better game than bengals chiefs..

Got the fear about the bills. Game is still not won, but it’s close. Get a first down and take it out of your defense’s hands, because despite Miami’s offenses travails, they’ve still got hill and waddle and a catch and run could cause havoc from anywhere on the field.
