Hey People...
I co-opted the South Beers Thread to start the discussion but this needs its own thread.
Right now the plan is this:
The Prince Regent will give us their room upstairs for free, but we need at least 20 people to make it worth their while.
Two courses for £11, just their normal menu, not an xmas one - boo hoo!, but the food is still very good.
Music will be provided by those members of the Bright Times circle who are South's Regulars, which is pretty much all of us, as we will have a sound system all to ourselves.
There's also a poll for the Date, consensus at the moment seems to be the 15th, but we could pull it forward to the 8th or push it back to the 22nd (though I don't think many people will be around for that one.) So vote, sooner rather than later and I'll redo the thread title to incorporate it.So roll up, roll up and enjoy the South Beers Xmas festivities, all forumengers who have attended South's are welcome, thats you Stelle, Ray, Skully, Illy, Object, etc, etc, etc, if I've missed you out don't worry, I still love you.
If you haven't attended South's hey nows the time.PS. Thanks be to Snowy for organising the Prince Regent.
List is below (transferred from the South Beers Thread)
We need at least 20 people so put names down ASAP.
Looking forward to drinking/eating/dancing/ with all of you.*South Beers Xmas DINNER (fck santa, it's an anagram for SATAN)
- Snowy Again
- Clefty (with bells and tinsel on) how about the 15th Dec? Can we have secret santa?
- VeeVee (but might be difficult on 15 Dec - would 22 be ok for people?). Prince Regent my preferred option for a change, they do nice cups of tea.
- Wibble (Count me in if I'm still around London town by the time it happens..)
- RPM
- hillbilly
- 50/14 as a ped
- Marie (Prince Regent too please, 'tis my local. Either date is fine)
- pajetc. yes that sounds lovely as I hit yet another Christmas too mercurial to have a staff Christmas do.

big fella, not being a full on regular smoker, more like a social, poncing cigarettes, smoker!!
But like villa says if you've made the decision in your head to stop smoking, then its best just to do that. STOP!
Being in Oz away from your usual smoking habits will make it easier, but you will still want to smoke, especially when you've got a few G's in you.
Be strong mentally and as villa says give yourself rewards and goals to work towards, which will hopefully strengthen your mentality and help keep combat the cravings...
Good luck. I'm looking forward to being crushed by yuor speed on the track next year... -
sorry to hear that villa, good that you and family are all safe, insurance will cover the effects, and I'm sure Mrs Ru, once over the shock of the burglary will get back into the writing groove, it could give her the basis of a story. Obviously I'm assuming she's writing fiction rather than anything else.

good night good people.
Was very excited to see you all, as if I'd been away and hadn't seen you all for ages...rpm nice to see you back, its not the same without you.
slainteen, always good banter
marie, you're gonna have to be like fiddy and ride a different bike to south's every week, first the bob, then the holdsworth and then the merckx.
dandy horse, I've just googled your name, interesting...
vee vee, keep your head up and persevere with the spd's, it'll be worth it in a month or two.
Skully, lovely seeing you out and about hope to see you at westies, for the anniversary special..
to all the others I shouted at, or generally aurally molested, big hugs...
south beers FTW...Also on a seperate drunken note. South Beers Drunken Xmas Dinner and Drinking.
Who is up for the above, and if you are up for it, where should it be?
Sir billy of the hills suggested doing the xmas buffet at the Coach and Horses, which was poo pooed by those listening, I suggested doing the steak sweats at the steakhouse that BDW, Prav and Dancing James went to in Putney I think, but that was shouted down as well
Anyone else have any options.
Snowy, can we sort something at the Prince Regent? Food there is supposed to be delicious.
Also we need to decide on a date, fairly quickly. Do we do it on a Monday or A.N.Other day, that is more amenable to the people..
Let me and the rest of the south beers crew know as soon as.. -

What is this fucking America? First thing anyone says is sue sue sue! This is the attitude that has massively raised insurance premiums and made a lot of small community run activities impossible to run due to massive insurance costs.
Sorry to sound like a cunt but you ran into a pothole on the road whilst riding with in inadequate light, sounds to me like a fair proportion of blame lies with you. You got a smashed up wheel and no serious injuries so you should count yourself lucky. If you'd been seriuosly injured and needed £1000s of medical help then sue the council but if its only a smashed fron wheel then HTFU and take some responsiblity for your actions.jdb as the great hip hop immortals EMPD said "YOU GOTS TO CHILL!!!"
we're not encouraging Multi to buy into the where's there's blame, there's a claim culture. But the council has to take some responsibility for the roads over which we ride. If going through a pothole, on a badly lit road, which is submerged in water causes you to have an accident then its fair to claim that the council should reimburse you for damage caused both to yourself and your possessions. I'm pretty sure the council aren't just going to pay out straight away so its not like its easy money, but a claim should be put in. Since, if the road wasn't potholed there would have been no accident.
Yeah we all ride round dents and holes in the road, but we shouldn't have to, and if the council for whatever reason is being a bit slow on the upkeep of them maybe having to pay out claims to people who are injured or have property damaged might make them move with a bit more alacrity in this regard. -
no that link doesn't work, but we do like ashley beedle...
