pj (pj) ok - BLB has a bad rep here. i think some of us overegg it. they have always been really nice to me, and i have no issues at all with their service. they've even opened up at 8pm when they were about to go home because i skidded through my tyre, sold me a new one, let me fix it in the shop, then closed up after. they have given me various things in the past, seatpost bolts, bar end plugs, the smaller bits and pieces, and sold me an oldish front wheel for £18, a shimano 600 rear brake for £4. they are an independent bike shop, as such, i feel they are worth supporting in this age of nasty mega-chains. whether or not you take your stronglight cranks there is another issue. jan, feyer are very nice people. aviva is nice if you catch her on the right day. i like it there, and i am prepared to pay a bit more to keep them in business.
that's about it really. i just don't think we should all jump on the 'BLB are satan' bandwagon so readily, when some of us been riding fixed for 8 seconds and can't change a puncture.
+1
although it BLB so it'll cost me +12 really

//as mentioned before, it's about the idea, if you've got a boss idea but are rubbish at colouring in just do a rough sketch and if it's chosen we'll make sure it looks the business//[/quote]
ok wayne i'm in, in that case.
Really what i would like is for the finished image to resemble an instruction booklet, vector lines a bit like this:

My idea is roughed up below, (sorry for the sprocket again hippy but it 1 year 1 gear, a sprocket is after all a gear)
Basically i really wanted a baby with a dummy that is a sprocket and the little fella in these photos melted my heart, which is what i see all mercedes drivers doing when we unzip our jackets and flash at them......aaaaaaah i want a bike. Positive mental attitude rather than 'ROCK YEAH! we ride bikes'
Any way someone with some illustrator skills like this enough to taking from the drawing board? Neil?

thank you so much dale for organising. Sorry i melted away, i was a proper puddle and had to work in the morning, but it was worth a good soaking to see so many people show their face to the man upstairs and say 'NO' I shall ride, all the same. I'm defo with you on the "what if it was good weather turnout" question.
You left the loveliest post after you had, had such a great weekend, (you know the one) and rather than trawl and 'quote' you. I'd just like to say that you and all your parishioners did the same for me. :)

turpe Ah.
Mine lives in my living room.
Speaking of which, not sure I've posted a picture of my new bike to the London forums, so here she is:

1974 Gitane Track (the heavy one!) with a mish-mash of componentry. She's a little rough around the edges, but great fun to ride. Geometry's twitchier than a crackhead the day before the dole cheque arrives, but I quite like that. I'm running Tufo tubular clincher tyres, which give a surprisingly nice ride.
am i stoned or are these fotos, very odd in too many ways to describe. I actually think only tynan/wheels might be able to critique them with the proper vocabulary.
