I think there are only a few very loud people who talk shit about the league. Just to be clear: I have said that I think the format is stupid, but I love the league. I think the league is awesome, even if we are experimenting with a format that I really don't like.
exactly.
I don't like the fact that it is split in two divisions, but the league is something great to be part of, and play teams of all levels :)
Any ill feeling towards the league isn't about playing beginner teams, it's about the format. There were beginner teams in both the previous leagues, and that caused no problems

Highlight of the weekend had to be teh funniest 30seconds of polo ever. My team (Luis) in red was playing Greg's team in black and i had just been subbed, im watching from the side lines as we are 4-5 down. Hannes (black) gets a loose ball and moves over the centre line, big swing, manages to take out his own front wheel, mallet goes to 3 o clock bike to 7 o clock hannes spread eagle on the ground as a double set of minute and hour hands. He has to sub out as he's hurt. Mattieu MGM comes on picks the ball up heads toward his own goal and as 7 other black shirts yell "no, no, no" at him he slams one through his team mates BB, the smallest of smiles before he realises he's scored an own goal. Everyone laughs, Greg subs him straight out again. We were 5-5. I thought we might be getting lucky...we lost 16-9 :)
Brilliant fun.haha. That was so funny (sorry hannes, sorry matt).
As a spectator, i liked the format a lot.
I'm not sure if i'd like it so much as a (weaker) player, but that depends on the strategy of my captain - i.e. whether he would be using the best players the majority of the time, or sharing out the play. (the objective is obviously to win though..!)
thanks Paris :)

The netballers told me they were going to start playing every wednesday or other wednesday around 5 or 6-ish. Not sure how long they play for.
Joni - if you have already organised the 6 of you for tonight, I don't have a problem with it. probably not best to schedule any more games for a wednesday though as it's good to keep the regular throw-ins or we risk not having anyone to play against!
Down at 6.19 (nice and keen)

Everyone keeps talking about this other team but they have never materialised.
Just carry on, mark Apples games as a bye. JohnH will re organise the schudule so that that division finishes slightly earlier.
Please show me where this team is, who is in it, and where they disclosed their intention.
For the record i am not against another team starting the league, was just pointing out that there isnt one.
Can this new team form and play us before Nov 14th? Who are they?
Can we set a deadline for their commitment as we are already in the game playing period for this fixture? If not I'd like to be able to arrange to play Nice Touch.
We are available Sat 13th or Sun 14th for midday games at Newington.
Does anyone know who this team is? We are already losing time in this fixture period, so if they exist can thet let me know ASAP.
If not are there any objections to us reshuffling the fixtures so there aren't periods where two teams both don't get to play. -

Its not about objections. As far as I'm concerned, play the games whenever you want.
The issue is this. Your division now has less teams. This means you will play less games. Consequently you will have a period in which you play no games while the other larger division catches up and plays their games. This has to happen before the playoffs.
We can reschedule all the games (harder, now that some teams have played) so that your whole division has that month at the end of the season, at the same time, before the playoffs, or we can do nothing and treat each game as a bye, in which case every team will have a 2nd rolling 2 weeks without a fixture. So play them now if you want, but you will still have a 2nd two-week period. at some point, in which you have no fixture because your opponents have quit the league.
.....I'll take the first option thanks, and get a game in this fortnight.

Max - how could yo have forgotten the JAK goal from the first game? It was the first goal scored, so putting JAK in the lead of the whole fixture! :)
I hope Dave got some good footage.. especially John riding into the wall after scoring: Kool Stop John!
