Read Richard's Bicycle Book for information on how to kill their dog. And some shit about bike maintenance.
As for the women, I suggest criticising their shoes.
Ha, I was wondering how widely read this book was - Richard is clearly completely insane - I liked the bit with the pseudo psychoanalytical ramblings about motorists and their failed love lives causing them to ride directly into, and over, all cyclists in their paths. The prices are a bit optimistic as well.

Well... I bought the frame only a few weeks ago, and as far as I am led to believe they are the origional drop outs etc, I can't see how they could have been changed unless it was done in the frames infancy, and then re-sprayed professionally.
Someone who knows more about frame building may be able to say whether historically anything has been changed, but I'm pretty sure its all the origional components.

I have been out east around Epping a few times recently, so would definatley like to see more, especially if this is being aranged by someone who knows the back roads!
Who is riding what for this, fixed/geared/single? I'm sure 70 miles will be fine by then but at the moment that would seem a bit of a daunting distance for me fixed!

SOLD!!
I bought this frame off Ebay a couple of weeks ago, from Tour De Ville for £330. I have had a Tange Falcon (off old Bob Jackson frame) headset and Shimano (New, BLB) bottom bracket fitted to it, both by Brick lane Bikes.
To cut a boring story short I can’t afford to keep this frame – so am hoping to sell it for the price I paid.
I have ridden it a couple of times, to Critical mass if anyone saw it there??
Nothing has really changed from the original sale apart from the addition of the headset and bottom bracket so this link to the original ebay auction has some good accurate pictures, and I have copied the description from ebay as well.

"Very nice vintage Plum vainquer track frame from Ghent, Belgium. Frame is in excellent condition and has only minor chips / usage marks. Plum is a very famous bike shop next to the 'kuipke' velodrome in Ghent, Belgium. They have been going for 75 years and have produced some lovely frames. Beautiful lugwork and a very nice chromed Cinelli fork crown with the P for plum.

Hello - I am after a cheap frame, around 58cm, forward facing dropouts, any condition really, just one that is cheap and I can get my hands on quite soon.
I have managed to bend the left hand dropout to the point of being unrideable on my current frame, which annoyingly is a nice old Bob Jackson frame, and need something to ride now while I either fix it, or replace it with something more permenant.
so... if anyone has, or knows anyone who has an old frame lying about anywhere, that they would be willing to sell I would be interested.
cheers...

Hello.
I know this thread is nearly six months old, but did you make it to Brussels? the reason I was asking is I am planning to do a simmilar trip this summer myself, maybe even as far as Cologne?
The first problem I seem to be facing is getting the ferry across with a bike...
From what I have seen in other forums is that the nearest crossing is Dunkirk? has anyone done this? -
From a distance it looks like the bike is being ridden directly into the ground
