Both, really. The group that is running it now is way more hardline than those of us that started it (well, that isn't entirely true, but as someone who basically lived in the kitchen for the first two years I can say that quite a few of us were vegan, but didn't feel the need to be dicks about it).

I guess the problem is that it was, and will always be, a multi-headed monster who attempts to function as both a restaurant and a political entity. It doesn't work.

You can get vegusto cheese from Vx, which is pretty great. I got a t-shirt that has a unicorn on it and a cupcake while I was there.

As a vegan who hates vegetables, I used to go to Benito's Hat to get a burrito and just got both kinds of beans, with none of that stir fried pepper nonsense.
Then the guy who understood where I was coming from left, and now if I ask for it I have to explain myself to the girl about 12 times, then I get a tiny amount of each bean and asked if I want chicken. She really doesn't get it.

well, pasta is a bit of a fickle thing, I was a little worried about over cooking it in general, I'm not sure the slow cooker is the place for it... although dinner was pretty great.

I made my own sauce out of fresh tomatoes, and I was afraid it was a bit too thick and added a bit of stock to it. Could have done with less.

I made vegan lasagne today in the slow cooker. It was brilliant, and in the end it cooked a lot faster than I thought so I turned it off, and when J and I got back from our evening walk I topped mine with vegormet cheese and his with real cheese and stuck it in the oven.

I was kinda thinking it was a chance to have epic layers, and I would definitely cut back on the liquid.
It would be a really easy way to make lasagne as vegan, then put cheese on top of half of it and crisp it in the oven.
Hmm. I'm salivating. I think I better have a go.

has anyone made lasagna in their slow cooker? I was looking at recipes and it looks pretty interesting. I just can't tell if it's a good idea or not.
