Looking for a left pedal for a Time Atac Alium set. Mine has just broken a spring. Had a look at replacing the spring but seems like too much work. Thought I'd ask if someone has a left one in OK condition knocking about before going ahead and buying a new set. The left one is the one that I unclip the most so it was loose already but now it's seriously loose on one side.

Hi Arup. If these classes are anything like your video tutorials, then I'm certain they're well worth it and deserve a thumbs up. I followed your videos to the letter, sat in my dining room between the computer and the dining table(work bench) with my bike upside down (no truing stand), building my first wheel. Several miles now and still perfectly true. Thanks.
Wow, good to hear. I've used tutorials from YouTube so many times that I thought it was time to share the love and give something back. Glad to hear that they've been useful. Still haven't got around to doing the spoke length calculation ones. Perhaps I can film it during the next workshop.

Hey guys, finally got a date for the next one. Was going to be this Sunday but I'm going to be away. The one after is a bank holiday weekend and suspect that people will be away. Give it another week to get all your stuff together so I'm going for Sunday the 11th of September 3.00 - 7.00pm. More details on my site. But read back through this thread for more details.

What I've found between Open Pro and Sport is the consistency. With each Open Pro you can more or less guarantee that the rim itself is going to be true. This isn't the case with the Open Sport. You can get a brand new set that is totally fine and the next set is not quite as good. The join is another thing to consider. Much better join on the Open Pro and better finished. Worth the extra dosh IMO.

Saw that Strada wheels in Hove use the PKLie one. I'm seriously considering getting either the Centrimaster or the PKLie. Quite a big outlay but then building wheels is my business so it would be a business expense. Just need to do a bit of research to see if it would be a worthwhile purchase and business decision.

I haven't managed to source CX-rays singly anywhere as they seem to be sold in packs of 20 where I've looked. Will need some soon on a rebuild job for a DT-Swiss 240 on a Easton carbon rim. I imagine it'll be a 24 hole which would mean 8 spokes left over either side. I could longer nipples for the non-drive side but then it's still 16 spokes remaining if I can only find packs of 20.

Cheers guys. I wish I hadn't used the Neatsfoot oil now. The honey coloured Swift is now more like a conker brown. Hope I haven't knackered it.
So basically give the B17 a go and get my arse measured. Hugo, I'd love to try out the B17 but I do leave my bike locked up when I teach yoga so would worry about it getting nicked. When I first got my Swift I used to take out the saddle and seatpost when I locked it up. But then after a few weeks I couldn't be bothered. Luckily I still have it. Maybe not too many saddle thieves round Kensington and Knightsbridge.

I've been riding a Brooks Swift for about 4 months now and it's not really getting comfy at all. I started by giving it the Neatsfoot Oil treatment following the instructions by Sheldon Brown. I have tweaked the position many times but it's just not happening. So I've gone back to my San Marco Rolls which is better but still not hugely comfortable. Should I give the B17 a go or just give on Brooks?

My 2nd truing stand which was supposed to arrive in time for yesterday's session just turned up round lunchtime today. But it's all ready for the next one. Thinking about Sunday 5th of June for the next one for all those who wanted to come to this one but couldn't make it. If that's too soon then perhaps the 12th.

My Miche Pista rear track hub started to feel a bit grindy after about 5 years of commuting. There was some resistance to the drivetrain about a year ago but didn't realise it was due to the hub till all the other parts were upgraded. So I replaced the hub and rebuilt the wheel yesterday and now it's smooth as. But I also bought a set of bearings to have a go at refurbing the old one. They're the right ones I think as I got them from Chicken Cycles who list them as Miche cartridge bearings.
Replacing hub and rebuilding wheel - totally confident.
Replacing hub bearings - total novice.
Time to skill up!
