No Silver Spoon, No Polo.

I really like the lack of drilling metal needed for this method. Also it's really quick once you have the bits and pieces. Works best before the really thin end of a pole has been cut though. Then you can use a smaller/lighter nut/bolt combo.

Don't know if this really fits in here but as Rik was talking about this heads...

Erin sent me one of Riks and I wanted to find a way to attach it without the side tab. (In truth I cut this off and then thought, ah! Thats what this was for!)

Had a trawl on LOBP and decided to give the nut-dropped-down-pole-taper method a go with a slight tweak. Rather than just relying on friction/press fit to stop the head turning, I filed 4 teeth into the end of the pole and didn't drill the head at the end for the pole, just for the screw.

Now the screw pressure pulls the teeth into the plastic of the head and stops it turning. It's held up for a few sessions now so I'm happy.

One of the guys here uses a piccolo for polo. Good and nippy but the small wheels and twitchy steering see him eating floor more often than most.
