yeah, good spot dogs, sure do. the selle italia storika. best saddle i've ever ridden. need to look out for some NOS ones soon actually as they might become a little bit more difficult to get hold of.

my brother rides 46x16 and you don't want to end up with legs like his. 46 x 18, as others have suggested, would be a pretty good gear and will make skidding nice n easy

yeah, i like my 165s and yes they are cooler.

beware of some cranksets saying they are 165 but they are in fact 170 but with the pedal hole machined further up the crank. can't think of an example but i am sure i have come across this before

skullhead - just so you are under no illusions - the night ride affairs tend to be a lot of pissing around, stop/starting, high jinks, that kind of stuff. not exactly flat-out affairs

keep the original paintwork. that's saved you £60 straight away. use some parts from your current ride - just swap them over.

but yeah andy, it can be an expensive business

tommy et al. i am actually thinking of staying in lymington bay this time, and just ferrying across on the day for the ride.

riding london to portsmouth is a good ride actually. but the group i will get together are definitely more of a train lot. poss some in cars. we've had no trouble getting bikes on trains in the past. and there is a regular service so if slight problem then group splits into separate trains.
