vic I was looking at Dia-compe Tech 4's actually Todd - I would maybe be interested if you want some £ for it? Ooh but do I go for white or red or silver? Decisions!
Are you sure it's suitable for risers, and what kind of clamp size is it?The black clamp-ons are available from http://www.trackstarnyc.com.
I'll have a left white in a couple of days if you want.
The chrome are nice.Got 'em from Alans Bmx. The best old school stock!

Just got mine yesterday!
Remember...
The lever with them is for drops and won't work on flats / risers.
Got some NOS white dia-compe tech 4's on the way and will have a spare left lever if anyone's interested.
The clamp on front brakes are available in black too via other sources.
Put mine on and it's quite big in comparison with standard brakes.
I didn't want to drill and I'm not into going brakeless.
Other option is new forks.Clamps on nice and flush and shouldn't damage forks.

Wow those pictures are scary! Definitely not theives. That's psychopathic anger towards your bike. Can you imagine the noise it would have made? Somebody saw something for sure.
What worries me is that to have so much anger towards a locked up bike is madness.
What tools would they have been carrying?
We should definitely lock up a cheap bike there and see what happens. It was either that bloke in the window. (Why else would he not give you answers?!)
Or a group of young thugs who are doing it to rebel against....? whatever it might be.I used to live there and have seen attacks on cars, shops, window, park furniture etc.
Around the corner there's a small car park which when I passed once, every single car (x7) was slashed and bricked.
In fact, it's at the end of the road where your bike was!I'd imagine you're not the first to have their bike fucked with. Like someone pointed out, if you have to lock your bike don't do it near a side street.
I'm pleased you have brought this to light and hope you're back riding asap.

Horrible stuff! There's so much shit going on round there.
The guy in the window might not have done it. I can imagine a lot of people lock their bike's there and he has to sit and listen to thieves trying to wedge/smash bikes off his railings. That's me reasoning. He still sounds a cock.
If thieves can't get your bike they smash it in:
1:Because they're pissed off they can't get it.
2: in the hope you abandon it ('til the morning) so they can get proper tools and have it in the middle of the night. Then there's just the haters.
My girlfriend had a huge rock thrown at her head from a passing car. It missed but is not funny. We all know what Brick Lane's about.
You just can't take your bike there. And better curry houses can be found elsewhere!
Not on!
Hope you get your (v.nice) bike sorted. -

It goes to show that just because, we're all riding bikes, we're not all the same. I like to think it's a common ground but some cyclist's are so aggressive for no reason. I like the way you remained polite to him...really got his goat up!
That's how I try to be - in a patronising way. Ha ha.
When I do get pissed off I pull out this:

We should seriously have some fixed wheel medieval games! -
They should offer a custom colour service. The bike's 'alright' but not for everyone with that finish. Don't particularly look forward to seeing tons of them on the road. (Maybe it makes it easier to single them out). The whole point 'surely' is to add some individuality. Deep V's getting cheaper and cheaper...especially in green. Sell 'em quickly! ha ha.

le car I like how everyone has been building bikes that look pretty much like this one for months (I could have counted about 5-6 looking similar to this one on sunday at polo - including mine yes), and now it's disgusting when a brand produces a bike that matches the general taste...
Agreed. That's exactly what's gonna happen.
It's when brands begin to influence us that we should be worried.
I shall look forward to the Charge Fixed Shopper ;-) -
Ride the f@*K out of it and enjoy yourself. There'll always be some who like and some that don't. That's what makes it fun riding bikes. Due to the 'trendy' nature of fixed wheel bikes, there's begun a fashion-like snobbery towards owning a fixed wheel. A status. That's very unfortunate and won't last. I hate that shit! It's how you personally feel that matters. Why get a keirin frame when you can get an amazing British or European frame? Just make sure you're here for the right reasons...
For all the money you're spending on your bike you could've had a dream frame built especially to fit...
...maybe not from Witcomb though! $$$$$$$$See you on the road ;-)

Funny how things change. I cycled that route for years and remember the original bike shop which was there up until a few years ago. They didn't get enough trade. The wheel is still attached to the wall where it was. Gallery now at the Fields end. Now there'll be lots of business. Do the guys still give out free teas and brekkie to cyclists in London Fields? I was always on my BMX and felt I didn't fit with all the friendly commuters that were stopping. I'd be all over it now though!
