You're funny.... remember this bit
"but I'm sure he will learn to anticipate and avoid these things in future."
Where's Harry hill when you need him?
You're just seem to be going about this in the old "Not being rude or anything, but your're a cunt" kind of way.
You're clearly missing my point.
If you pulled your head out of your arse then you'd realise that what I meant was that with experience you learn to expect the unexpected.
So now that's cleared up, I'm off to the pub, taraa.

A bit simplistic I fear.
This one has happened to me by both taxi and by a private vehicle, both times I just picked myself up and while totally embarrassed about hitting the floor, checked hat I had all my limbs and let them drive off. The passengers have always been panicked and that takes your mind off getting their details... totally natural.
Tons of people don't look what they get out of cars/vans, a post office van nearly got me this morning, had he opened the door two seconds later I would have had no chance what so ever.
So respectfully, "Eyes. Brain. Brakes" Bollox!
Well it works for me, and I've never been doored, despite the fact that plenty of people have opened their doors on me such that I would have gone right into them had I been riding too fast and/or in the 'door zone'. I'm not saying that it's the OP's fault, because it clearly isn't, but I'm sure he will learn to anticipate and avoid these things in future.

If you've ever wondered what it would be like...
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/3440984/Guy-camera-captures-what-its-like-to-be-burned-to-death-on-a-bonfire.htmlThat just shows what it might look like, not what it would be like.
Besides, who's to say the fire wouldn't melt your eyelids and make you blind way before you died?

All manner of crank brands (better and worse) have failed in the past and will fail in the future. Until it becomes a regular occurrence it could be a single manufacturing defect, installation fuckup, maintenance fail, etc. Has anyone else ruined a set of RPM cranks?
Yeah you're right, but because I've never had a pair of cranks break before on any of my bikes (even on a bmx that I did loads of really hard sprocket rocks / chainring stalls / whatever you want to call it on) it came as quite a surprise and I'm not keen on buying the same crankset again

Holy jeez, how did you manage that!!!! Did the spider buckle too, or was it just the ring that went. I.e. should I consider replacing just the ring or both. I retract my comments!
Otherwise, I didn't bother with the standard saddle and rims from Pearson and specced my own. My bum's particular and I prefer box section rims.
Two of the spider arms have hairling cracks in. One completely broke off. You can see one broken one in the bottom photo.
