I just picked up the 2007 Wilier LAvaredo which has been reduced from £1250 to £999 in CycleSurgery. I haven't actually ridden it yet, due to a fucked elbow, but it does look pretty.
(admittedly, Tommy(TheBrick) called it the ¨ghayest bike evah¨ but I THINK he was joking.)
Or, go to Planet X and get their full Carbon with Dura Ace shifty bits for £999. I would ahve but they don't play well with Halfords Cycle2Work scheme.

Hi Torpid,
I am also a fan of being nice, I really am. As you may have seen in other threads (the cornering /pedal strike one) I sometimes agree with people, including you :-)
In this thread I didn't agree with one of your points, but I did not intend to be rude in my response to you. I am genuinely sorry if my comment sounded arrogant or flippant.
Obviously, later in the thread I was rude to you, I felt justified in being so, because of your behaviour towards me, particularly with regard to my recent, serious injury.
I am totally happy to let bygones be bygones and chat in a sensible manner about all sorts of things, including gyroscopic theory!
I must admit to not sympathising with your stubborness that drives you to 'deal with those that think they can oppress you', but each to their own. I'm sure you have no intention of actually being violent, anti-social or unduly threatening?
Regards,
mashton

What happens if a Rollapaluza CC member claims the Rollapaluza CC membership prize? Do they get upgraded to platinum status with complimentary post-roller race massages from Winspar or something?
I can actually hear you drool as you type this.
For me, it makes me glad that I won't be racing - I always get erections when massaged...

and an almost unmanageably high IQ that puts me in a minority of 0.2%, but life goes on doesn't it. Vivre la difference.
Careful BMMF, that is dodgy ground on this thread... You may generate some bad karma that will involve you deserving to fall off your bike and injure yourself seriously.
Just a warning like ;-)

I think that both the fixed gear and single speed advocates need to accept that both systems are inherently flawed
I agree, though 'not perfect' might be better than 'inherently flawed'. Different tools for different uses - which is probably why a lot of us have more than one bike, with and without freewheels.

Fort St George already established as closed.
henry's is a wank hole.
Eagle is good, with a large courtyard but not really much bike room.
I'd be tempted by the Mill or The Anchor - buy beer in plastics, take out onto Mill Pond Green, drink, watch girls, watch punters falling in, enjoy.
Jealous.
Oh bollox, I think i may have given away that I went to Cambridge university - this probably means that at least one of you will hate me for ever now and hope that I fall off my bike and break my head or something. Arse.

Shit, this sounds like an amazing night - cool ride plus killer party. I may have to miss the former due to brokenness, but will hopefully manage the latter. Will keep in contact with the main group by phone and maybe meet you guys at the finish, for a cocktail in the Oxo before debauchery in manor House :-)
