photoben Just spoken to my mate and he's busy doing his final show for his art degree so the Colchester ride won't be till mid/late June. I'll keep you all posted.
Trains heading east are usually all bike friendly. I used to live in Col, aand never had a prob putting my bike on the train in the last four years.Do you just all roll up and buy tickets? Is there a limit to the number of bikes they'll let on the train? Just thinking about a bunch of us coming back by train..

I booked my ticket on the bus trip back yesterday. Early-bird price until the end of May.
I was going to sort out a train from Ipswich (another 40k away) but the hassle of it all made me choose the bus back.
I'll be doing it on my ill-fitting blue Ribble road bike, most likely, with Dinotte LED for lighting and maybe a bag for clothes, batts, food, spares, etc.
I thought it was 200k not 170k but, whatever. Been doing 100k+ rides on weekends with Willesden CC so tacking on another 100 won't be too bad.. ha! -
Gyeswho Brooks Team Pro - http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/images/br/brooks-team-pro-saddle.jpg
For those who sold their brooks you missed on a good thing eventually. i know, the break in time totally sucks but once things set in it will be so dang comfy. there is seriously nothing like leather.I would've been in hospital before I made the wear-in time.. having my arse re-attached. My Flite saddles are leather.. and titanium.. and carbon-fibre.. :)

RPM that sorta contradicts my experience..
can ride the brooks commando, padded briefs, whatever, don't matter
padded shorts are ok, but too much chamois cramps the ole' fella, janart?I should've clarified: I was using the Brooks on (don't laugh too hard) my track bike. So, I was only on it for a couple of hours a week.
It sucked but I was saving for another Flite. I ebayed the Brooks. I still wish I could find another one of those cheap mtb GT saddles, mid-90's.. -

JOL Hi. Glad you used the tutorial. Please feel free to substitute the aussie piss I had with whatever beer you feel like!
MVP lager? I'm from Melbourne.. never heard of it. Wait..

I had the wheels of my car done at one. It cost perhaps $25 per wheel 3-4 years ago?

We played it in Melbourne a few years ago. There might still be people doing it? I know someone asked about it recently on an Aussie bike forum.
Our version was different in that it used an small football (indoor soccer ball? not an Aussie Rules ball!) and we played it on a large grass patch in Richmond.
Goals were just dumped bags, bikes were pieces of crap, mallets were anything really - some proper built, some using cricket bats, etc.
It was great fun. The only bike I've ever had stolen was The Tank which was my polo bike. sigh -
Fixedwheelnut
Buffalo Bill Anyway WTF am I posting about map-holders on a fixie forum. Whoops! There goes what little remained of my street-cred.
Nothing wrong with mapholders, no good riding fast in the wrong direction :)
This was what my map holder contained for most of 4 months touring in '05. As you can probably imagine.. I was lost a lot of the time! :D

went out the other week after a lockring spanner, went ealing, chiswick, hammersmith not one was any good, i don't think there is a decent shop this side of london at all.Do you still need a lockring spanner? Coz, if anyone needs bike tools, I have some.
Send me a message me or something. No guarantees of course but I might save you spending £10 on someting.

These would be what you are talking about, on LCS:

Anything in 56cm Jos? The Raleigh bores me (oops, i'm gonna die tomorrow now I've said that!)
Are you doing just fixed gear stuff?
