How about rainlegs Wiggle link
They just cover the front part that gets the wettest and don't restrict your legs.

An update after some face rearranging Tuesday night
Well I done it last night on the way home from the club run three of us take our usual cut through a pub car park and notice the usual gap in the chained posts is chained up, I'm in front and notice a new gap to the right with the chain on the floor. As I go through the front wheel flicks the chain up just enough to catch my left pedal and then it all goes slow motion as the bike lifts up at the back pivoting around the bottom bracket hooked by the chain, I bail out for a tuck and roll and had my right arm on the floor but the bike had other ideas and the handlebars hook my foot dragging me back to hit face first, grazing my chin, lips and nose and teeth biting a chunk out of my mouth, that I spat out in the car park :-D
It's cleaned up quite well, when I first got home last night with blood smeared all over my face I looked like Ziggy Stardust

Here is the damage, lets face it, it can only make an improvement

stompy
Fixedwheelnut
RPM have you intrepid gentlemen considered the wind?
I find just gently riding out of the saddle for a while helps let it out in little fartlets :)
or is that not what you mean't? ;)
Isn't that what the hole in the saddle is for?
LOL perhaps you can play a tune by sliding back and forwards over the holes :D

Great tips BMMF, I would only add when climbing fixed short hills can be gunned at to power over and keep momentum going, longer hills it's best to find a steady rhythm and plug away at it, I tend to alternate between seated and scoop the pedals as BMMF suggests and honking out of the saddle to keep the momentum going.
Steep bastards just do everything you can to get another turn on the pedals, tacking from side to side, swearing at the cranks sometimes helps too :)
6' 2" and 92 kilo's trying to get back down to under 86k my old Judo fighting weight without giving up beer :)

BringMeMyFix Which is why I ended up sitting on my trainer with the roller disengaged the other day, but only managed a disappointing 267rpm ;p
Fekkin e'll 267 and you're dissappointed?
I hit a new max a few weeks ago 41mph on 46 x 18 67.3" gear 205rpm and that was only for a nano second downhill, I usually max around 150 on the flat sprinting :(
I'm gonna lose just hope I'm not last ;) -

A good starting point for Handlebar position is to place your elbow on nose of the saddle with your arm in line with the top tube and fingers pointed towards bars, then place your other hand flat at 90 degrees to your other hand so that index finger is touching index finger, your little finger furthest from the saddle should be the centre line of your handlebars stem clamp.
Work it around from there until you are comfortable.
