scott not scot
lpg they are both the biggest selling hiphop artists of the last 5 years.
their newest albums deserve recognition.since when was popularity a direct reflection of quality?.....if that's the case then i guess the f*ckin cheeky girls must be talented too eh?....
you can't use record sales as an argument for ability....it's merely a reflection of trends...it's like a tidal wave....once the hype builds up about somebody (hype that is 'bought' with backhanders to the right people)....everyone simply buys it to be like their mates,or to be cool.
To some extent, i agree, but how else can we quantify musical ability - the only measure is album sales. That isn't to say that the biggest selling albums of the last 10 years are mine or yours top 10 favourite albums of that period, but, on a very general average, it is the country's, because its what people are spending their money on.Hype can work to boost album sales, but if the music isn't good then it won't get very far.
since when was popularity a direct reflection of quality?
Well, in a few cases, not at all, but i can name you many quality popular albums, can you name me many quality unpopular ones? Surely if they are quality, then they will get popular.
I do believe musical taste is a personal matter, but albums produced during times of different trends are still good today. Think of all the classic albums.

They don't look too far off your average army&navy 3/4's. I mean, i'm sure they are better made, but £70's better made?
