Great call.
+1 few refs would have the courage.
What gave me the courage to make the call, was that I had previously spent 5 mins shouting at someone to give Tim the flag behind that goal, so I was able to ask Tim what had happened, and act on what he told me he saw, because I could not see what was going on, beyond that Will had fallen on the goal-line, and YWY had the ball in and around the crease.
If it had been some random drunk person, I'm not sure I would have been quite so confident.
Moral of the story: for finals, make sure you get good goal refs in place (Flo from Punky Munch was at the other end, and I would have trusted him just as much as I trusted Tim).
Which reminds me: Thanks Flo!

I'm curious to hear some feedback on the whole crease ruling. Is it something that should be included in "more serious" tourneys....
IMO, yes. No double goalie = much better polo. It was still possible to defend, but the rule rebalances the game in favour of attacking play.
I'd also want to see the rule modified so that one attacker only is allowed in the crease, and I also think the crease should be 1m wide from each goalpost, and 2 or maybe even 2.5m from goal-line.

Almost everyone should have accounts or stats on here now, so remember to claim your existing user.
I want to claim my points for the EHBPC, but I can't figure out how to do it.

why not mitch then LF?
I could try to get the guardians crew earlier at mitch today, I hope around 3 pm or something like that. The problem with LF is that we're not really supposed to switch the lights on. Sunday was ok, because it was a special occasion, but if we get caught, it will cause trouble.
If you want to play later, Newt has lights until past 10.

Absolutely exhausted.
Highlights:
The bar, Mrak & Tree were hilarious all weekend.
Bike polo Olympics, and Seabass' brilliant bribe.
Being used as a floor-wiping implement by Beer & Loathing.
Reffing Polonauten (the rad-polo team), and watching various different teams trying and failing to get to grips with their fantastic bike control.
Erin getting my attention when I was sorting out the penalty goal situation by shouting "William, William, WILLIAM, WILLIAM!!"
Thanks also to all the London (and others) polo people that vocally supported my reffing of the later stages of the finals - it really helps to know that my efforts to keep the polo clean & fair were appreciated. And to all the players that bitched at me during games, all I have to say is "grow up, it's only a game".
Thanks to Jono, H Bomb, Erin, Niki, Badge, Ryan, Eggpie (who was absolute brick all weekend), Nesbit and other L.P.C. people, and all the out of towners (Bromance we love you!) who pitched in and helped by reffing, carrying, fetching to make the event happen. At times it seemed an impossible task to get all those teams on court, especially on Sunday morning (how many games? 200?), so thanks so much, it wouldn't have got done without you.

I know there have been a few threads on this matter already but I would quite like some up to date information.
I am taking a year out from university to do some serious travelling but I would quite like a job until Christmas, preferably as a bicycle courier in London.
I've applied to a few places and not heard back from and failed the geography test at CitySprint even though my London road knowledge isn't bad. Are there any smaller companies currently recruiting or bigger ones likely to take on a rookie? I'm not too worried about earning slightly less at a smaller company. Other than internet searches is there any other way I can get a job as a courier or get contacts in the industry?
Cheers,
Hugo

Crease, the rule seems to work for now, but creases are stupidly designed, they aren the same on each courts. Somes are designed on the basis of the Basketball ball crease and are way smaller than other on another court wich have to big rectangle on it. Wich make thing hard to ref and play, as on two courts you can almost double goalie and on another one you cant. There is non sens to make different sizes an that's not a big deal to make them the same on each court. Also reffing this is really hard, I took a shift on mid day group, an staying focus on classical rule and ball play is hard enough. Having to watch on static defense with on eye and staying focus on ball play at the same is hardcore.
Edit: it seems that Players are respecting this rule as they are thinking about it( I saw Lucas jumping out o the crease several time). So that's hard to ref but looks easy to auto-ref ( as for foot down rule).
Yeah, me & Jono did both the 1 & 2 creases, and the 3rd was done by others, who unfortunately didn't get the chance to measure the originals as HB was going on by then. Apologies for that!
Another way of looking at it is that with the different sizes, we get the opportunity to see which size works best :-). I agree it's hard to ref, but I didn't have to call it at all during HB. But we'll see.
Someone (was it you, Clement?) mentioned that it seemed unfair that 3 attacking players are allowed in there for as long as they like, but only 1 defending. Possibly something to think about.
Hope that we get lucky with the weather. Yesterday, when the rain started, I had an empty pint glass, and collected around 5mm of water in less than 20 mins. Torrential doesn't really cover it.
