the event is from 11am to 4pm.....
Rollapaluza will be rolling throughout this....it's a come and have a go thingy, not an actual competition, we will be recording times and posting them on the site though.
I've looked at the site map and from what I can work out the cycling area and french market will be on that huge sort of circular terrace ....right outside the main entrance.
-
I am the weak link in the rolling rollapaluza train.....I'm crap at "couriering" (my fave word) as any of my controllers will tell you....in fact I only got asked to ride with two days to go, I really was the bottom of the barrel....plus will be pooped after rolling at Arsenal.....thought you were an icognito messenger - gorilla?
-
oh yeah, forgot about dudes without cycling shoes......worth getting a pair....more efficient, more power throughput, generally more sturdy and protect your feet better (my foot got run over by a minibus while I was on the deck with my foot on it's side...felt nowt!)better for knees and ankles too.
or get one side spd / one side flat type pedals...though putting clips and straps on the flat side might be overkill!
-
-
why bother with toestraps? spd is much better for London use in every single way, the only possible reason for for insisting on using obsolete technology is because you think it is cool....what do you do if you're trying to impress someone who thinks straps aren't cool? or someone (99.999% of the population) who won't even notice or care?

I am a sculpture student, but there was an 86.66% chance that I'd say that...
Interestingly (or maybe not), Hovis Brown taught the class next to sculpture for this year (contextual practice. No idea what they do).
Thanks to some good contacts through college I got a job working for Stuart Haygarth, which paid for my current bike. No, I didn't really get paid much :).
I am spending my summer making a website (http://www.amirtemur.org), which as of now has more or less nothing on it because i've forgotten javascript and css pretty much completely and dabbling in a spot of music, but neither of these are likely to make me any money....... so no carbon fiber anything for me in the near future :)

I was wondering if anyone from here did that. I couldn't sleep last night so I went for an early morning cycle, was sitting on a bench near the millenium footbridge (I live just down the road near southwark tube) and suddenly heard loads of bike bells - looked up and there was a troupe of cyclists crossing the bridge - people on the way back from the solstice thing at primrose hill. The first thing that crossed my mind was that they were a group of cyclists who got tragically lost on critical mass or something, haha. Had a chat with one guy, it sounded brill. If i'm present next solstice I'll be doing it for sure!

I've always used glue not tape....
if using glue not tape, don't bother to clean old glue off rim, spreading new glue on will "reactivate" it.
24hrs before fitting tubs "dry fit" them onto the rim and leave them to stretch...
fit them next day will be a lot easier especially if using glue.
use the backing tape on the tub to help you line up the tubs straight with the rimtubs are a bugger to fix....normal thread is not sufficient.....need something super strong

if you think rapha stuff is too expensive don't buy it, it's an easy decision to make.
i think it's great that rapha can extract that much cash from it's customers it proves they are doing something right with their business.I have a few rapha items but i only paid less than 1/4 retail price, it is overpriced at RRP
-
That's annoying, I'm here that saturday but only for a gallery opening. I go home next weekend :(. And doubly disappointing, I always thought critical mass was the 3rd friday of every month, meaning i could do it the friday before i leave. Then i realised last month it was on the 26th, which is obviously the last friday as there aren't 33 days in May. My life is ruined........

Yeah I like the red stripes.... thing is all the stickers are pretty knackered - great big gashes out of most of them (but luckily not out of the paint - good old hard as nails raleigh finish!)
Will probably get rid of all of them once i'm settled back up north, then get some replacements. Top tube sticker was a mistake, I know! regretted it the instant I put it on.
Cheers for the comments guys

it's on the site...homepage: http://www.rollapaluza.com
it's deffo gonna be beaten soon as we've only had one sesssion since we got the rollers refurbed....so if you want to be a record breaker better try it soon before someone like Jos rides and makes it "untouchable"........!

The Rollapaluza roller-racing rig will be at the Tour d'Arsenal next Saturday.
Come along and try out the rollers for free and see if you can beat the current (new) 500m record set at the Fireflies send-off on our newly refurbished rig.At the Arsenal stadium from 11am - 4pm there's gonna be stunt shows from Intertia BMX, a bicycle try-out area, french market, french music and more… apparently.
make a day of it ....Arsenal first, Nocturne later!
eeehhh.......eeerrr, no I didn't, I just said it.
