it's boring but it works.....

my tip is during "recovery" bit keep cadence and heart rate up (130-140bpm) and do your intervals at 90% max....you'll get power plus the heart and lungs of a horse....do one 100% effort before the end and warm down gradually for 15 mins....PLAY LOUD MUSIC and concentrating on frequent targets helps time pass.

I've done the following a couple of times and liked it:

Ride from London to Portsmouth (65 miles form S.London)
Get on night ferry to le Havre and have a good night sleep!
Cycle approximately along Seine Valley up to Paris....highlights: Rouen town centre, Les Andelys (nice descent) and you go right past Monet's House and garden
(bridge over lilies) at Giverny.

You're either cycling on a plateau or in the valley so apart from the couple of times you switch from one to the other, it's pretty flat....about 150 miles in France as I can remember, but might be wrong....

i don't know if they are 'right' or 'wrong' just my opinion/views, i'm happy to be corrected by those whose opinions differ.

get fitted properly at a shop. i'm 6ft 1 and ride a 56 (semi compact) i know people the same height who ride 57 and 59 bikes.
a 56 could be fine for you but then so could a 59.........

they look great (not my cup of tea though) their main purpose is to gain a few 100ths of a second per mile on time trials due to their aero performance, the only reason people use them on fixed wheel bikes is vanity. (apart from fixed TT bikes for competition use) if you are trying to justify buying them on performance grounds then as i said before there are better value better performing wheels out there.
want a bling shiznit front wheel to attract wimmen and other njs/hed/rensho geeks then buy one.

it's a wind up.
however if you are picking a wheel on aesthetics they are highly rated, want an all round performance wheel? (lightweight/durable/good ride feel/repairable) look elsewhere.

because they flex massively, are heavy, you can't replace the rim when it's worn so you throw away a £400 wheel and buy another one and they ride funny in a crosswind.
their only advantage is aero performance when doing 30k plus on a flattish course

ideal for fixed gear bikes cruising around town.
