I checked out the specs. The ladies bike is 6.9kg! Not bad for 1979.
I've heard that Sablière made some '80s builds around the 6.5kg mark, but have never seen them.

- The insertion limit on '80s Campag seatposts is just under 60mm - I just measured one of my C-Record posts.
- Is there a reason your Syncros post can't be clamped there? Highly unlikely. It's only superlight posts like the Darimo T1 that can only be clamped in certain regions.
- Is it a standard (non-Freuler) seat cluster? As long as the bottom of the post extends at least a few mm beyond the bottom of the top tube, it's fine. Indurain's seatpost on his Freuler-geometry Pinarello was close to the limit and didn't even extend beyond the top tube. It looks as if the seat tube had a reinforcing sleeve that extended all the way to the clamp.
I'd be comfortable to use yours, subject to checking the seatpost and cluster. I'm over 90kg. Been riding older Campag seatposts right on the limit for years.

Here's the frame after a thorough clean, some polish and some carnauba wax. The pearl white has yellowed a bit over the years. It adds to the character.
It's got some nice features: drilled Campag rear ends, a Zeus 2001 fork crown and an elegant curve to the forks. It's clearly not as well made as an SBDU. But it's still lovely.
Next up: get the BB chased and install some components.

I've started a new thread for the Raleigh Weinmann/ Panasonic. I think it deserves its own. I'll post pics of the finished article here.

Back in 1984, as a young teenager, I had a Raleigh Team Cadet in the Weinmann/ Panasonic colours. Pretty rubbish bike, but it got me to and from school for three years or so. It also got me hooked for life on this team colour scheme. Malcolm Elliott was one of my heroes.
I picked up this 1984 Nottingham track frame a few years ago. This summer is when I finally build it. I'm planning Record Pista mainly. I also want to experiment with colour on the saddle and bars. The classic white bar tape and black saddle on the team bikes looks good, but there are so many options to play with the blue, red and yellow. Let's see how they look.
Here is the frameset before I cleaned, polished and waxed it.

It was fun while it lasted, but I had to restore the Bianchi to a more basic spec. The little inconsistencies were bugging me too much. One day I'll find another full-chrome frame that all the shiny stuff can go on.
In the meantime I need to decide what to build up next. I'm thinking the Raleigh Weinmann/ Panasonic, with extra splashes of colour to match the paint job.

Well spotted! Can't beat decent drilling for that retro look. Bad drillium, on the other hand, is pants.
