I’ve run into a snag with my stupid MGOOF project and while I’ve already had some good advice on it a bit more won’t hurt. The problem is that the dropout slots on my niceish chrome forks are something less than 0.5mm shy of 9mm and therefore these hubs (early 2000s Chorus) don’t really fit. What’s the best course of action? Just ram it in? New hub with a threaded section as opposed to solid? File something?

I’ve just got hold of this as hopefully the culmination of various attempts at a road fixed that’ll stick. Much to do, not least replacing the potentially lethal recalled fork, but clearance for widish tyres, space for mudguards and rack/bottle mounts make it exactly what I’ve been looking for for some time.

I’ve really loved riding this but it’s time for me to move on to something sensible that’ll take bottles and mudguards. I believe it’s the OG Brother frame, lugged 4130. Some decals have peeled off over the years and the paint is a bit tired but it’s ding and dent free. Full geometry here Drilled for brakes front and back, room for 28s, maybe a bit bigger even.
Sale is for frame, forks and cheapo Tange headset but I’ve got plenty of parts to go with it if required. Let’s start with £120 collected in Bristol. I’ll consider posting if no one wants it locally.

I bought this in a moment of weakness at a jumble but I barely have room for it and need to get rid before I’m tempted to start firing the money gun at it.
It’s a Benotto 2500 56cm square with a nice chrome fork. Condition is ratty but not disastrous. Generic Columbus sticker on the downtube but 27.2mm seatpost and rifling in the steerer implies SL. 126mm rear spacing, ITA BB.
Apparently a load of these Mexican-made Benottos cracked but I figure this one has survived 35 years or whatever so 🤷.
£50 collected in Bristol. Postage is possible.

Right, unpausing this sale as I really have no need for this. Things I’ve learned riding it is that it’s a lovely, smooth ride even on 23s and I bet it’d be great with a more modern groupset and lighter wheels than I had on it. Clearance at the fork crown is quite tight, but I think 25s will go with the right rim/tyre/caliper combination. There’s plenty of clearance at the rear end. Pic shows what it looked like built up.
Competitively priced I hope compared to what Pedal Pedlar want for the same frame!

A tentative enquiry for a stupid MOGOOF project I may or not pursue. Budget about £200, ideally less. 10/11 speed would be nice but I could manage with 9.
Not bothered about the brand really, though it’s an Italian frame so I guess some Campagnolo would be most appropriate.
I am in Bristol, btw.
Thanks
An audit of the shed has revealed the following which need to go. Lots of beater quality rubbish here but I’ll see if anyone fancies it before they go to either the bike project or the tip. Maybe one or two bits are a bit more desirable! Collection in Bristol, everything postable at cost.
