the cascade is a versatile frame so it seems, would def. consider buying one.
right now i'm happy with my simple and 29x2.0 contis, the bottom bracket is a bit high and the clearance in the back is tight, but super fun to ride.btw: erik from heroux cycles plans on doing a steel version of the tao (with optional brake mount on the rear)

those halo rims are quite cheap, if i remember right.
buying a used ssp wheel mit the same rims should be easy as they are common at least in uk ...
selling the "old" backwheel should be no problem either.maybe i'm wrong.
would anyone be so nice to enlighten me: what frameset is this? thank you :-)

max. without fenders were the mighty conti x/race king 2.0 on some 19 or 20mm (inner)wide rims, but was tight in the back at the chainstays... some 4 years ago, frameset bought new around that year.
