Those WheelsMFG adaptors are very tight. They’ll normally take a whack with a mallet. Taking sand paper to a chainset is just begging to fuck something up.

They are on a flippin cargo bike tbf.

Don’t do this, just make sure the axle is nice and clean then apply fresh grease

What kinda budget? The Cannondale topstone fits everything you want. Carbon or Alu

Clean it, bleed it and see what happens. Shimano use an “open” hydraulic system which means if you’ve popped the diaphragm they could actually hold decent pressure, you’ll know pretty quickly if they don’t.
Keep an eye on them and if you see some leaking coming back, they’re toast

I reuse to believe that most of these bikes don’t sound absolutely horrible on a really soaking ride. Those mudguards need some breathing space!

On that subject, I want a cheap frame that’ll fit 28c and guards. What should I buy?

Although I’m more in the camp that “gravel” bikes are a bit of a con, we should all still be riding cross bikes with 33-35c tyres.

I have 44c tyres on my bike currently and they just feel really heavy
