Thanks - I ended up not being referred and was instead asked if I was depressed/anxious. Will be going back and chasing a referral. However, I do wonder how much of our recovery is going to have to be self directed. Glad you're finally getting some appointments and sorry to hear you had to jump through so many hoops with GP's.
The Ben Coomber blog linked by @recycled has some good information in it. Specifically the bits about relaxing your nervous system. I'm finding that pretty helpful too.

Had a chance to mock up some bits on the Orange this week. Got the frame, swapped the forks over from the frame that had a hole in it and managed to re-use the original STX headset. It seems Orange went from 1 Inch threded to 1 Inch threadless in the years between my old and new frames, but it all worked fine thankfully.
Got a used Kona stem and some Spank bars from Wiggle with a 60mm rise which works out great. I'm 6ft so there’s the possibility this 19in frame is too small for me with the modern front end. Will have to wait and see.
Frame has some nice details including two sets of bottle cage mounts and rivnuts on the underside of the downtube (origionally for mounting a crud-catcher I think). Will need to think of something to mount here - could be a fun place to put a pump!
Figuring out drivetrain next.

Couple days later I saw another orange P7 frame on eBay. Sent a silly offer to the seller (which I was convinced would not be accepted) and had that heart sinking "seller has accepted your offer" notification..
In true LFGSS fashion I have lovingly curated this moodboard including some forum favourite bikes of mine as #inspo
So far I've ordered some Spank riser bars and a Raceface Narrowwide chainring.
Need: Everything else

Alright, so small issue with the Orange P7 pictured earlier. I was (lovingly) taking it apart to begin its resurrection and discovered a rust hole on the underside of the chainstay. The cool and quirky side of my brain says it’ll be fine ride it, but in reality it’s not something I'd really be fully confident riding.
I contacted a couple of frame repairers/builders and got a very lovely and detailed response from @M_V which included a rough cost to replace the chainstays. It was less than I expected to be honest so was pretty keen but unfortunately the BB and Seatpost are extremely stuck, so the frame is currently in my cupboard.

Continued exposure to grease, lubricants and disc brake cleaner has caused one of my colleagues to develop contact dermatitis, so I think it’s definitely cause for concern being around chemicals all day.
Thankfully our workshop is well ventilated (stands are right next to the back door) and we now all wear gloves when working on bikes. If it’s worrying you then it’s definitely worth chatting to your employer/shop manager about - employers should be up for making some changes to keep you safe.
Having a supply of gloves (the Muc-Off ones are good) and a hot water tap to properly clean hands before eating is ideal!

Haven’t checked this thread (or been on LFGSS) for a hot minute - lots of good advice in this thread! Also nice to know that I’m not the only one with daily headaches. Got a GP appointment coming up and I’m hoping to be referred to a long covid specific clinic. Sorry to hear about your experience with the Kings clinic. Seems like a lot of Long Covid people are having to manage it on their own a lot.

Nice seats! This is a wicked thread. That GT3 centre console swap is an absolute game changer too.
How’s the E39 doing? There’s a 530i Manual parked near mine, very temped to ask them very kindly if they’d part with it. Always fancied one after owning a couple of similar era 3 Series’. E46 being the nicest all rounder, despite being extremely rusty.
Ideal 2 car garage - 986 Boxster and an E39.

Re: gay bikes, pure mania is the way I think? One of the most chaotic bikes I’ve ever worked on was an early 2000s era mystery brand hybrid that had been (badly) spray painted yellow. It had a brand new drivetrain but the hubs were suspiciously loose. Bike owner was aware of this but was just vibing. I think if you can encapsulate that sort of energy (in a non life threatening way) it would be quite gay. Also bike decorations, like a silly little vase on the handlebars with a single flower in it. Or stickers covering up the bikes branding.

I have not personally, but I’ve heard some positive things on the r/covidlonghaulers subreddit about it.
