Has anyone else had persistent daily headaches since getting Covid? I had covid over a year ago, had some bad fatigue over the months after which still comes up when I push too much, but the main thing is I get a headache every day. I was unvaccinated at the time I had covid so I was very ill but I am vaccinated now.

Going 2x friction gives you more gear inches and influencer points I think?

Bike looks so good and I’m glad the tyres are getting put to good use!

Went out on a much longer ride on the Dawes today, and brought a multitool so I could make some changes on the way (very helpful big brain of me). 42/53T Chainrings are much too big for Bristol so that’s something to look at in the future.

Would also highly recommend the Bristol to Pill path for anyone in the area. I was definitely massively underbiked for some of the Leigh Woods sections, but turns out blasting down hills on a completely inappropriate bike for the terrain itches good parts of brain!

P2’s look excellent. Know what you mean about long stems, old mountain bikes always had like 100-120mm stems which makes them feel a bit unsteady for me personally.

Hey, selling my set of Paselas! Wire bead, 700 x 32.

They have been fitted and test ridden a short distance, tanwalls are a little bit grubby from mucky hands but other than that they are as new!

Selling as I decided to go for some not-tanwalls.

This is what’s next on the to do list - a 1995/6 Orange P7. This bike was very cheap but needs a lot of attention. Seatpost is most likely seized and I had to remove the front mech with an angle grinder.

I want to build this up into a fun bike for chill trails, and to carry some light luggage. It’s also a perfect size that my partner can use it too. Thinking 1x and some chunky tyres.

So after some messing about with different tanwall tyres and shiny mudguards I fitted some all black 32c conti/vittoria tyres. Tanwalls with the brown frame was a bit of a 'brown overload' (as they say?), and all around made it look a bit too steal-able.

Wheels are Shimano hubs with Mavic MA2 rims (a lucky ebay dot com find), both derailleurs and cranks are Shimano 105 (1050/1051). Stem is a Velo Orange quill so I could fit some 31.8 Clamp modern bars.

Been test riding a bit and happy with it. Can also deal with some light #gravel quite nicely.

Been lurking on this forum for a year or so but ended up making an account a few months ago as I started getting into bikes again!

The first bike I worked on was a Dolan Pre Cursa that I got when I was 16 about 10 years ago (which I still have, and will hopefully appear in this thread at some point!), but I'll start off with a brown early 80s Dawes Galaxy frameset I bought from @sacredhart to use as a bit of an all round/all season bike.

Made a couple of changes - I swapped out the downtube shifters for some cable stops as I wanted STI/Indexed shifting and added a cable guide under the BB as Galaxy's don't have them. This makes cabling easier. Currently the cable stop is Epoxy'd in place. Will drill and tap at some point.

Very sad to head the news about Mike. I absolutely love this video too, what a great guy.

Huge soft spot for these 90s Marin frames, yours looks great. I very nearly bought a Palisades Trail frameset recently but settled for something else instead. Nice pictures too!

That seatpost clamp is wild! I love the idea of the gold tbh - think it’d look great. No experience with gold leaf personally though. The paint seems to look okay overall, I’d start with a real good clean up and see what your options are then?

I’ve bought a second hand bike off of someone. I do have name, address contact info etc - it’s a clean bike.

It’s got a bike register number on it -I’ve looked it up its showing as all clear. What’s the best way of getting it registered in my name? Would I need to contact him as I’m assuming I couldn’t just re register it under my name.

It is possible to remove the ID number from the frame but I would like to avoid this.

Seem to have missed this in the CP section - it looks excellent. I’ll keep an eye out for it Locked up in Bristol!
