Selling my Woodrup as I don’t have the space for it and I’m moving to France at the end of the month.
Frame is 56cm sq, rear spacing is 120mm. Absolute dream to ride, super lightweight, I’ll be sad to see it go. Frame is in great condition considering its age, gun-metal paint is holding up nicely. Some lovely features notably the wrapped seat stays, campy brev dropouts and braze-on cable guides at the bottom bracket. Decals are a little worn but original, and I added the headtube one. I also added some 3m tape on the seat stay bridge to protect the frame from an ass savers mudguard rubbing.
Wheelset is H Plus Son TB14 silver rims laced to Surly Ultra New Hubs, Silver Sapim race spokes and nipples, handbuilt by myself. Running 32mm Panaracer Gravelking semi slicks. Probably only around 200 km on the wheelset, built as an upgrade and then moved on to other projects.
Nitto S65 seatpost with Sella Italia turbo (small split in fabric at the back and a fairly large water mark)
** Nitto Pearl Stem in pictures is no longer on the bike and not included in the sale** has a 90mm stem fitted at the moment (don’t have updated pics because it’s in storage)
Nitto riser Bars (can’t remember the exact model) with newbaums tape
Dia Compe front brake BS101 + Goldfinger brake lever
Tange Seiki falcon headsetVintage TA crankset (170mm) running a 46t TA specialties pro 5 vis chainring and 17t fixed cog. Drive side crank is unfortunately threaded (I bought it in that condition but fitted it anyway) should be easy to remove with a bit of pedalling, it was greased.
The seatpost binder ears were a bit damaged when I got the frame but a few washers solved the problem and I’ve had no issues in 3+ years of owning this bike.
Pedals, bar end plugs and Nitto pearl stem not included in sale.
Would really like to get £800 but please feel free to make me an offer, I'd like to see it go to a good home.
Don’t see many classic Woodrup frames up for sale these days. This is a real beauty imo. I might be able to can get a pic of the serial number at some point this week.
Need to sell asap - by the 29th Jan!I'm in Andover, bike is in storage in Portsmouth. If a sale is agreed I would need a day to collect it. Happy to post, but meeting up for collection would be ideal.
More photos to follow, any questions please ask -

Yeah your Royal is lovely! Real nice
So I did a little test with a wheelset I put on my Dads old Dawes which has 38mm Gravelkings on it. Easily clears on the fork but might get a little bit of toe rub. No chance on the rear. But I think 35mm might work.
Going to test some 32’s before buying any more tyres. Has anyone tried crimping chain stays for extra clearance?

This is super helpful, cheers Oddo! Picked up the Randonneur today but it’s still in the car at the moment. Will check it out more tomorrow. Really tempted to get it converted to 650b as you did, but that means a new wheelset and funds are pretty tight. I already have a nice 700c wheel set that I could use.
I was supposed to be selling all my bikes before moving to France so my wife will probably kill me for getting this but I’ve wanted to build up one of these frames for ages and couldn’t resist!
I’ll try and document the build if anyone is interested. And plan to cycle it over to France when I move there in the new year.

Hi, sorry I really don't have time to post it I'm afraid. collection only.
Update: Woodrup is not for sale. I can't bring myself to part with it. I'll update the post.
Lots of Raleigh Randonneur photos here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/199278448@N02/53274628883/in/album-72177720312100298/
Please study the photos if you're interested. Frame is obviously not in great shape and needs repairs before riding. But it could be an awesome project for someone this winter.

Hi all, I have another frameset up for sale. This one was an ebay find from a few years ago and I had grand plans to do a 650b conversion along with some other frame repairs. Sadly, I never got round to it and now an impending move means I'd like to pass it on. These frames are fairly hard to find these days.
The good:
It's a Raleigh Randonneur in Gun Metal
Size is 60/61cm
Fork is in excellent condition
It has the spoke holder braze onsThe Bad:
There's a pretty sizeable dent in the seat tube. Little bit of rust / paint damage around that area too. I was going to get Varohna frameworks to repair it and change the canti brake position at the same time. But like I said, never got round to it.Because of the repairs needed I'm not asking for much. I think £50 is a fair price, but would sell it for less to the right buyer.
Hopefully someone here has the time and money to get it back on the road again. Could make a really fun winter project, see this awesome thread by Oddo if you need any inspiration https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/358195/?offset=150#comment17122843
If I don't get rid of it this week it'll go into storage for another time.

I picked up this Raleigh Randonneur before Christmas and have been planning to get it built up for quite some time. The plan is to restore it back to a classic randonneur with some modern(-ish) upgrades. I'm kinda over the whole 26" retro mtb thing now, having restored 3 or 4 over the last few years. They are super fun and I will keep one of them for sure, but I want something a bit faster for riding longer distances on the EuroVelo network in Southwest France, that's capable of carrying some luggage and comfortable on multi-day rides. The Randonneur seemed to fit the bill well and it should just be a straight swap using most of the parts I had on my Muddy Fox Courier Comp.
The frame is in pretty good condition considering its age, and it looks like a previous owner treated a bit of the surface rust. No decals but you can tell from the spare spoke holders that it is indeed a Randonneur. The serial number suggests it was made in Worksop in 1987, so the bike is older than me. A real classic British touring bike.
Here's how it looked when I picked it up. I test fitted some 38mm Gravelkings that were on my Dad's Dawes to see what I could work with in terms of new tyres. Cleared the 38 in the front but toe overlap may be an issue, no chance in the back. Looking at the original build specs these were designed around a 28mm tyre. I'll probably run a 35mm up front and see if that fits in the back, if not I'll go with a 32mm. I spent a lot of time researching similar Raleigh builds, so I should mention @thebikefelix 's Royal and @Oddo 's awesome 650b conversion.
Since moving to France I've been itching to get riding but at the same time wanted to take it slow and enjoy the process, documenting everything as best I can. I managed to work on it all this weekend and thought I would get a thread rolling retrospectively. I really enjoy reading this current projects section so here is my attempt to add something to the forum.
