Pic unverified, but it seems like the shooter shot using iron sights, which is almost as unbelievable as the fact that he managed to do what he did in the first place.
Guy was a PA resident, and it seems like he used his dad’s gun, so maybe he cobbled the plot together that same day. It would explain the choice of shorts on a hot tin roof, and the lack of optics or a tripod or even a backpack.

That’s why the shooting has clinched this election for him.
More than showing strength, I think he’s posturing. He’s been taught his entire life, and especially since his apprentice years, that appearing as anything but strong and dominant is contemptible, so his reaction was out of fear of appearing weak. If he were truly strong, he would’ve done like Roosevelt, who was shot in the chest during a speech and not just grazed in an ear, and still decided to speak for another 50 mins before accepting medical help.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I don't know whether you fully understand that I have just been shot, but it takes more than that to kill a Bull Moose.”

He did tilt his head but not by much, and he didn’t turn it, just tilted. The shooter missed, and there’s a million possible reasons why: a sudden muscle twitch, bad aim, a poorly zeroed rifle, a gust of wind during the bullet’s flight path…
The theory that the shooter hit a teleprompter which splintered and hit trump is plausible. Heads of state usually have bullet and blast resistant (BBR) screens around them when they stand at podiums in public; perhaps former POTUS don’t get one due to the cost?
-
There is zero chance he or his closest lackies would let anyone point a rifle at his head, no matter the bullet or cartridge. This was a legit attempt.
If you’d like to warp it into a conspiracy theory, consider that the shooter could have been recluted by someone else whose role it was to put the weapon in place. The organiser could have messed with the sights or, if you really want to break out the tin foil hats, they could have loaded it with blanks and told trump to grab at his ear, and/or told a SS agent to slash his ear in the dogpile.

They’d never get any work done if they did, it’s become far too partisan. The federal House of Reps is able to impeach the POTUS to accuse him/her of committing a serious offence of some sort (not necessarily a criminal offence). The federal Senate then passes judgement, and that’s as close as it gets to a vote of no confidence.

Front page news worldwide is that he called Zelenskyy ‘Putin’, and said ‘Vice President Trump’ when he meant Kamala Harris.
I think his candidacy is over, but he and his inner circle just refuse to accept it. Fuddling by is keeping them in denial, but he’s had two chances to wow the electorate after a bad fuck up, and he’s performed poorly.
I hope that they kept him in the race this long partly so he could rally NATO to their new commitments, but i expect the reality is just what it appears to be: he’s stubborn, and Dems are afraid of rocking the boat.

(trigger warning: discrimination)
I started work at a near but not-London council 4 weeks ago. My first day started with my manager spouting two hours of vitriol: liberally saying he doesn’t give a fuck if they fire him, saying he moved towns because of the Muslim population in Tooting Bec, condemning ‘soft liberal types’, bitching about an imminent Labour government, over sharing about how he cheated on his first wife, and other nonsense culminating in his opinion that humans are a pest on the planet, that 2 billion people are the optimal number and the rest should be culled. Yes, those were his actual words.
My second day was not better, and at one point he casually dropped how he’s given bad references before, but not formally of course, instead he’s found out the hiring manager’s phone and had a quiet word. On my 3rd day he mocked a situation where a child had drowned.
I’ve been forcing myself to endure because I have a new baby and partner on unpaid maternity, but the guy’s attitude and treatment has worn me down. He’s micromanaging me, told me to stop meeting with my predecessors who moved to other teams, and had the gall to tell me off for not copy-pasting and sending in my own name an ineffective passive-aggressive email he had written. I deduce he’s trying to isolate me, which is a messed up thing to see.
His manager is also a chnt, who is punctilious about not getting involved in the work.
I need out of this role asap but my notice is 3 months. It’s gotten so bad I’m having constant invasive thoughts of self harm. I contacted HR then didn’t book a meeting after 3 people separately advised that I’d just make myself a martyr or a target. What can I do?

Unverified videos of the shooter bear crawling on the roof show he was up there for about 2 mins before shots were fired. The SS has been a shambles since before the Obama years, and this just proves they still need serious reform.
