Hi, I'm thinking of buying a 1984 Somec road bike frame. It has no bottom bracket or headset. I'm no bike mechanic and need a bit of advice on what I'd need for these . Also, I have no budget to buy Italian fittings and I'd like to use as much of a circa 2001 Ultegra groupset on my current bike as I can. I guess the threading is Italian on both the forks and on the bottom bracket shell. Can anyone suggest what budget options might work with this frame? And particularly, how I can use the Ultegra crank set? If I'm not wrong I believe the cranks fit onto an octolink spindle.
Thanks. I'll paste some pics of the frame:

I like PMK a lot and have been using it pretty much exclusively for a year or so. It has excellent shelf life, as you probably know. I don't use it for faster film as you tend to lose a stop because of its staining properties. eg. for TriX 400 you'd probably need to meter at iso 200. That takes all the fun out of TriX! For Kentmere 100 (first time I've used it) I shot @ 100. For Ilford FP4 125 I shoot @ 100. PMK is really great with FP4.
